I have had my Lifestyle 5 for about 4 years. Yesterday my audio started
dropping out and I would get a loud high frequency screech/burst...and
    then no audio.

Displays fine...in fact you can hear audio with a earphone at the 1/8 jack...but no output from the speakers except for an occasional burst of violent noise...then the audio will return at some point and the unit works fine for a while. It seems like if I disconnect the audio input for some reason (moving components) I have to go through this audio drop out for a day or two... pop's - snaps of audio until it finally comes back to normal operation.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, Sorry does your question relate to a display problem or a sound problem? If it is a display problem let me know the colour of the perspex, strange question I know but it does help me identify the unit.

press the "2" button on the remote while pressing & holding the stop button on the device, something like OP 86 will come up on the lcd display, repeat the same procedure and press "enter" afterwards, the device should restart and the problem should be solved.

Sharp cd-bk2100v protect mode problem

This is a circuit inside the unit that is proventing the flow of eletricty to the rest of the unit so the amp does not blow. without looking at the unit I could not tell you what blew or what part is effected by the protection fault. However any tv sterio repair shop would be able to look at this and let you know if its worth the fix or not.

Thanks and please do leave positive ratings and feedback for your free answer today.

Need source for basic assembly info on FLACO CDG - 11.

Fleco is out of business. They offered NO support when they were in business.
The machine itself is a good one when it's working. If the upper unit is out your best bet is to replace it with another unit (using the existing box speakers and amp). If the Amp is the problem it can be repaired by a competent repairman That's willing to take his time. Schematic is not available. I repaired my own amplifier. The biggest problem is capacitors and little 8pin op amps. The parts are dirt cheap and available from several sources. (Mouser and Digi-key)

No sound whatever

when you switch the unit on make sure that you hear two clicks, this will tell you whether the protection relay is working. Should you hear the two clicks this will indicate that the audio ic`s are working. There are fuses inside the main component box, four on the transformer. Let me know the outcome

CODE F61

F61 tells you its a power source problem according to the manual. to all F61 error it is very likley that the str470-050a reg legs desolderd and have broken away from the main body of the regulator giving you the f61 and shut down.
