I turn on my olympus stylus 600 camera and all i get it a black screen.

You need to check whether the LCD screen is damaged or not. The best way to do this is shoot a picture, and then down load to PC. Check whether the picture is ok or not. If the picture is ok, then LCD is bad. You need to replace your LCD.

If you wan tto do it yourself, the following are some sites for help:

Buy a used camera (one sold for parts) through ebay.com very cheap. Buy a jewellers screwdriver set for $1 from Dollar store. Then replace the LCD.

I cannot take pictures because the screen is black...it will not show the view i want to capture...how can i fix this problem? pls help me :(

First of all you need to identify whether your LCD screen is bad or not. You can do this by shooting a picture and downloading it to your PC. If the picture is ok, then your LCD is bad. You need to replace the LCD screen. It is not cheap to replace it.

If your camera is under warranty, try to get it fixed on warranty terms.

A cheaper way, but time consuming. Try to replace the LCD yourself. Remember that you are doing it on your own risk. Warranty becomes void once you open the camera.

Learn some basics from websites. Look at the following web sites:

If you think you can do it, then buy a jewellers screwdriver set for $1 from Dollar store. Bua a used camera (a similar one sold for parts, but with good LCD) through ebay.com. You have to look for it. You may be able to get it very cheap, may be under $15. Remove the casing on the camera (5-6 screws). Carefully and gently remove the casing, dont break it. Once you open it, usually LCD is immediately accessible.

My nikon S203 screen broke. Where can I get it

You can replace it yourself, and save about $100. Here is the link for the part: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220596289186&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=WVI7&GUID=6e39ba491280a0265297e447ffefba19&itemid=220596289186&ff4=263602_263622
There are videos on YouTube that show how to take the camera apart. Here is a good article that explains the process, in detail:

If you want someone to repair the camera for you, get an estimate first. Last time I checked, a repair shop wanted $125 (plus tax), so I got one for $25 on Ebay and replaced it myself. Good luck, hope this helps!

Camera was dropped. Now there are horizontal

Most likely damage occurred to the LCD screen. You can replace it yourself if you can get the part, or you can pay someone to replace it. I was quoted $125 for repair, so I ordered one off ebay and did it myself for $25. If you google the problem, something like "Finepix E900 digitial camera LCD screen replacement", you will find articles that describe how to do it yourself. If you decide to try it, make sure you discharge the flash capacitor. It will stay charged for days, and won't hurt you, but will "bite" you, possible causing you to drop the camera or flinch and hurt yourself. I discharged the capacitor by shorting it's two contacts with the end of a flathead screwdriver. Short it 2 or 3 times, just to make sure you've drained the charge. If you don't want to go to all this trouble, you might opt for a new digital camera- I've seen name brands for $69, about half the cost of a repair shop. Good luck, and be careful with these cameras- hundreds of them get dropped, bumped, and sat on with the lens extended, and that often renders them useless, or uneconomical to repair.

Digital camera lcd broken

You may be able to fix it yourself if you can find a replacement screen. I usually search ebay for a broken camera with other problems that I can cannibalize. Here's some examples on LCD replacement. Don't recommend that you try this yourself, unless you have at least some experience with electronics.

Otherwise, the cost of professional repair may be close to or beyond the value of the camera. A better option is to sell the camera on ebay for other repair hobbyists to attempt replacing the screen for themselves. You actually may get a good price for the camera IF it's still capable of taking pictures.
