1. Try this - hold the menu button down for 10 seconds. TV should power up; youwill have to turn off front panel buttons on menu.

2. You can also try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cablesfrom TV. Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling.Switch on the TV and see if it works..

3. Powering down the set or putting it in standby may haveallowed the power supply to cool. Weak capacitors often go out of spec whenthey cool, thus preventing a section of the power supply from firing upproperly again. There is a simple trick...just warm the back of the TV with ahair dryer for 5-7 mins after you have unplugged the TV. Look for the littleareas of holes in the back panel of TV. Use these as your guide at where to usethe hairdryer, but don't hold the dryer too close (say 5-6inches away). (Makesure the dryer is on High heat). If the TV doesn't turn on after you haveheated it up (like it tries to come on but then turns off) you need to unplugthe TV again, this resets it. And repeat those steps till it works. Resettingthe TV after it fails to turn on is the key. Also, just leave the TV on. Don'tturn in off. Since it is LCD, it doesn't take much power...only a few bucksextra a month for your utility bill.

4. A circuit board may crack about some of the largercomponents mounted on it. You can inspect the PCB's for fractures, and thenrepair them. It may also be poor soldering that has failed. I would be checkingfor these things first.

5. If you want to go in for a long term solution, you can easily replace thewhole power board or just change the faulty capacitors. You will have to openthe back panel and take a look. You can make out which are faulty, becausetheir caps will be swollen on top. Here's a sample pic of a bust capacitor (notsame model):
No pwr - 94117e0.jpg
Check the specifications of the faulty capacitors, and get the replacementsfrom your local electronics shop. If you are comfortable with this, you can usea pair of needle nose pliers to G-E-N-T-L-Y pull out the defunct capacitors.Once that is done, solder in the new capacitors carefully. If are unsure how todo this, try to get a friend who knows how to do this kinda stuff do it foryou, or get a qualified technician. Warning: If you do nothave a background in electronics repair, or are inexperienced, get a qualifiedtechnician to do it for you.

REMEMBER there are very dangerous voltages inside a TVthat can KILL. Be sure to work SAFE when dealing with electricity. DISCONNECTTHE POWER BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.

Hope that helps! If nothing works, just dump the TV and buy a new one..It works out cheaper than having to try to fix it..

Hello, if it is that the case, I think all probable solutions are given, all you have to do is to initiate of what is being required by the solution.

Guess your TV got low power output to boot up the system to triggering and project display. so there fore something wrong with input power. the most common causes of this fault is the transformer which serves as the supplier of all power in all the circuit spare parts. going to power regulator and capacitor. so check it if you dare to do task. (warning high voltage). if not then, it required a qualified repairman to check it personally for you.

Please try plugging the TV to different power supply ,if this did not work and the fuse is good and your tv and still does not on, there could be faulty power unit or main ic must have been damaged due to power surge you need to service it or if you like to DIY you need to get a service will will guide to trouble shoot the problem .

If you would like to attempt a DIY, you will need a service manual to guide you. You can find one here:
http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

However, be aware that there are voltages inside your TV set that can kill, even if unplugged.

If the TV doesn't up, it could be due to a faulty flyback transformer or a defective HOT; in today's TVs if one of these 2 components are nor functional the TV will not power up because all the voltages are taken from the FBT.
These failures are not DIY or for a begginner due to the danger of high voltages in excess of 35Kv around these parts.

Did you measure the voltages using a multimeter?

If your unit has no power, check the power outlet, the electrical wires, the plug.gg and if all of this was in good... theres a possible problem on the tv powersupply area... check the fuses on that area..

Have you tried opening up the back and seeing if there is a fuse on the circuit board. the board should slide out pretty easily. Check if that fuse is bad.
Keep me posted,

Let me know if you tried my suggestion as this should either tell if you it can be fixed or if you should have it serviced/replaced.

It is quite possible that your unit is defective and in requires service. If you need the contact information to send it in for service I would be more then happy to provide that to you. You did follow everyone's instructions and still no good? Then I would recommend service/replacement is the unit under warranty?
    Thanks,
    Lee

Sometimes the solution is that you need to have your unit serviced. Unfortunately just because it is not the popular answer does not make it incorrect. With "high-tech" equipment like this, things like this happen quite often. It is unfortunate. No expert has control over the refund process you will want to try and contact support@fixya.com You should have found someones information helpful in the least. It is not a large amount to pay for the amount of information you have been given in a very timely manner. I hope you will reconsider and accept and rate someones solution accordingly.
If you need any further assistance or information let me know.
    Thanks,
    Lee

Try unplugging your television for a half an hour or so. It might reset to original settings, Your problem might be input lock features. If you can get to the menu after unplugging your tv for awhile we might be on the right track. I'm just looking thru a Toshiba manual that I have.

RCA Truflat TV 27F522T is completely locked both manually and remote do not work. Was working manually but after checking menu for block accidently FPA locked not can't turn on tv at all.

You must have its remote control to unlock this TV. Try to make your remote control get repaired, and check these.
Most RCA sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The code reset is different depending on the model. Try each number until you find the one that works for you.

1. Hold down the MENU button on the remote and VOLUME DOWN button on the TV it's self at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked

2. Hold down the 0 (zero) button on the remote and the VOLUME DOWN button on the TV itself at the same time for at least 4 seconds. The set won't say so, but the lock will be unlocked

3. Hold down the MENU button on the front of the TV and the TV button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. 4- Hold down GO BACK button on the remote and MENU button on the front of the TV at the same time for at least 4 seconds.
Hold down EJECT button on the front of the TV set and the MENU button on the remote at the same time for at least 4 seconds. Depending on the model, one of the methods should unlock the V-chip. Now, if desired, you can change the settings on the V-chip by going to the MENU and going to PARENTAL CONTROLS, or on some sets, going to MENU and then going to TV SETUP, then to V-CHIP SET.

Cant get any channels between 34-98

If your remote does not have a menue to access auto channel programing, look for it on the TV itself. It may be hiding behind a small panel door, usually toward the bottom of the tv.Once you find it you may have to figure out how to bring the screen up that has programing feature. The screens usually can be brought up by channel or volume controls. Once the auto programing feature appears you push or press ok. If that does not work you should be able to manually key in each channel, one at a time. There as many variations as tvs. Hope this helps. Good luck. Larry

Reset older analog tv

Hi,

Without the original remote, sorry none. You could try pressing on any of the buttons or a combination while plugging in the unit but that is no guarantee it will reset (fully). With your indulgence, I took the liberty of checking your other posts here and here. It would seem that your original concern is that although the TV would appear to be switching to the lower channels (Ch 2-6), the TV programs on those channels would not be displayed. If yes, then I am inclined to think that there is a hardware fault internal to the TV. This would be the tuner block. The reset, even if successful, would not correct this error.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
