Question about Insignia Televison & Video

1 Answer

Bought two insignia converters. Connected antenna up as described on your web site that answered the question "Will I be able to use my existing VCR with a converter box for timed recordings. The answer was yes and as follows: (1) The IN-PUT of the VCR must be connected to the OUT PUT of the DTV converter box. (2) The tuner in the DTV converter will need to be set to the desired channel prior to the start of each recording period programed with the VCR. I did that and as soon as I turned the VCR power on with the VCR remote it knock out the TV picture and I could not program a timed or immediate recording with the VCR remote. What is the answer

The Insignia NS-WBRDVD blu ray player will not connect to the wi-fi network in my home after countless attempts and efforts.

This is a common problem. If you go to the Insignia web site and find the forums, you will see a 40 page list of wireless connection problems. The wireless section of this player is junk. Use the wired connection and save yourself a lot of aggravation.

With the new HD transfer. We just have atenna...we just bought a HD TV. Is there a way of connecting the DVD Recorder so I can watch one channel and tape another with this new system

A lot of your question depends on your DVD recorder, but there IS a way to connect them so you can watch one channel and record another one.

First - if you have an HD compatible DVD recorder (one that will allow you to select channel 8, 8.1, 8.2, etc) then you could simply split your antenna signal BEFORE the TV or DVD recorder. Then you can select one channel to watch on your TV while selecting and recording a different channel on the DVD recorder. If your DVD recorder is connected to your TV's Video Input, you should be able to monitor DVD recorder's activity by selecting the "Video Input" on your TV.

If you DON'T have an HD DVD recorder, then you will need to get a converter box to put between the Antenna signal and the DVD recorder. You can then set the converter box to the channel you want and the DVD recorder can be set to record it.
