My Internet Phone Won't Work( Binatone S1085)

I have just bought an Internet Phone.I did everything in the instruction,ran the software,connected the phone to a spare USB,tried Skype Test Call that actually worked for me because when I recorded my own voice it played back to me and I got a recorded message which said that if I could hear my own voice I had configured my Skype Phone correctly.I do have a Skype account.I have a message on the screen of my phone which says Check PC but the instructions that came with the phone are useless and I have checked Binatones website and that is equally useless as neither gives an answer to my problem.
Can anybody help please?
Ps if it helps I find that whilst I have the phone plugged in I can't hear my music through my pc speakers but as soo as I unplug the USB connection my sound is restored

Hi,
The PC speakers would not give you music when the phone is plugged in to the USB, because the sound card is dedicated to the PC phone.
If the you got the message from skype back, this means the phone is recoganised correctly. To let me know when you dial or receive a call on skype do you get any error

You would have to check if your computers audio devices is set to "SigmaTel Audio" on both sound playback and sound recording, you can change this on your audio properties, just right click your sound ICON on the bottom right hand side of your screen, then click on "Adjust Audio Properties", once your window appears, click on the Audio Tab, then you'll see the playback and recording options.

    oh yeah and about the music when USB is plugged in, the reason behind that is that when you plug your internet phone in, all your audio attributes will be routed to the phone, and not to your soundcard anymore, so thats why you can hear music through it.



    also, you may try to use an older version of SKype, I'd say 2.5 or 2.7 version.

I think you have not installed the audio codecs which given from the manufacture ....
if you have the cd given by the manufacture then have a check in it ..
i think the codec called game,port audio controllers are not installed in the pc ...
just before that you try reinstalling the audio driver in the pc ...

reinstall the pc suite given with the phone & try
this solves your problem ...

Sir,

You could try skypemate, i know its not stated as being for your model but it does work with some of the tesco internet phones that were repackaged binatone phones. You would be best off starting again and installing via the directions on the link, if your phone came with its own software make sure its either not installed or disabled and use skypemate as the alternative:

Dont know whether it will help but its worth a try, you can always uninstall skypemate if it doesnt.

    sir,

    The only other solution besides waiting is to:
    Report each and every failed or bad quality call do not just send in 1 report keep doing it even if you are calling the same failed number each time to pstn-feedback@skype.net
    with your location, time of day of call and the complete phone number
    you were calling and of course what happened. Without this information
    there is not much Skype can do to fix your problem.

Please reinstall the software provided to you by the phone company ,
IF its windows system ,this is for XP...............

Try reinstalling the driver and run it in Windows Xp compatibility mode:
How to run the program Compatibility Wizard:

1. Click on the START button then select CONTROL PANEL . Under control panel you then click onto PROGRAMS under Programs you will see this screen below you then select “Use an older program with this version of Windows”.

2. You will then see this screen below. Click Next.

3. Select “I want to use the program in the CD-ROM drive/I want to locate the program manually” and click Next.

4. As a result of selecting to run the program from the CD-ROM drive/location you will see a message at which point you will have the option to choose your operating system. Select the “Microsoft Windows XP” option and click Next.

5. You then will be prompted to select a display setting. Select “256 colors” and click Next.

6. On the next screen, click Next unless your PC is controlled by an administrator. I.E. Your company owns the PC you are using. In which case you will need to consult with the company administrator.

7. Select “Allow” and the program will begin to install.

Check for your audio properties and see whether the required devices are enabled or not .--if not then enable them.it will work properly.otherwise also try reinstalling the software.

    do you have a QoS Packet Scheduler installed in ur comp? if so uninstall it

    b4 that..try manually checkin for volume controls on your PC

Hi,
try to check with ur connections properly..try to remove the battery once and connect them properly back also check for the compatability with your audio properties..when you can configure properly only you can hear your voice, so its easy from now which shoulnot worry you much..try reinstalling the software and connect them properly with the USB and configure it once again..hope it helps you..thank you!!..

Have you tried disabling your firewall to make sure that is not the problem? Also open your master volume audio properties. As there may be some time of interference when you plug in the phone and that is why there is no sound. Check your audio properties, and also check in device manager to make sure everything is working properly.

Try the hard reset method ,that is, take the battery out and leave for half an hour and then insert the battery and switch your phone on .And also i think your mobile is having virus so do scan that and remove the virus and try ,if possible try to format the memory of your mobile hope this will help you

Hi-

You have to change the audio setup on your control panel, and make sure that under device manager their is no conflict such as ?, ! or X mark on your internet phone name, check for updates as well for your product on the manufacturers website. Best i got.

Sadly here at FIXYA , we would have no idea if it is you or the phone. I would try a different phone . only 2 months old it no doubt has a warranty and the MFG should replace it

Binatone S1545 internet phone does not work properly with my windows vista computer. I have installed all the drivers that were on the CD in the box but the icon in the bottom right sode of the screen says...


I emailed Binatone about this problem. They first suggested that I go into SKYPE tools, then options, then advanced and check the Binatone phone was allowed access to SKYPE. It was, they suggested I reload SKYPE.
I made sure the Binatone phone software had been loaded correctly, then I reloaded the Skype program. The icon for the phone was still red with a cross through it, but them about 20 minutes later the icon turned green and had the message USB phone - connected, SKYPE - connected.
Fingers crossed it has been fine since then.
Hope this works for you as well.
