go to store that sells car decks and look for a wiring harness for ur car its about $7 mybe and prettymuch match the colors on ur deck to the harness and then pull ur old deck out and pull the harness from the back the back of that deck and plug that into the wire harness u just bought and hook up the antenna for radio andput the deck into the dash the wire harness should also come with so directions too just in case
remove the trim plate(thin plastic strip around your deck) you will see on the center of each side slots for two thin deck keys these always come with a new deck. you you dont have them ask a friend who has recently bought a deck(any make should be fine) or go to your local best buy and ask for a set MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR THEM FOR FREE unless the installer you asked has purchased his own universal keys they will give you them.
Un hook all your speakers that the deck is powering and hook them up one by one sounds like u have a shorted speaker or wire and the unit is going into protection. The best way to chk the speakers and wires is with an ohm meter . Check each speaker wire to ground and across the speaker and see iof you have any shorts. The next step woulk be to remove the unit and have it bench tested.
It sounds like you had a power spike when you installed the new battery. I would check the 2 factory fuses for the radio, one will be for the radio ignition lead and one will be just battery lead (usally assosiated with the clock). Lastly if those 2 fuses were ok you may have to pull the deck and check the fuse in the back of the deck.
If the fuses are all ok and no wires are disconnected, then its possible that something else went out. Good luck and take care!
to install this unit in your car........as a beginner i would strongly recommend buying a aftermarket radio harness (this harness will attach to the wire plug in your factory deck simply unhook the factory player and attach this harness to the plug you just pulled out of the factory unit) once this harness is installed on the factory plug it will be a simple colour match (just attach wires to pioneer wires IE. red - red, white - white........once all the wires are attached install in dash recommend buying a mounting unit for this net part it will hold the deck in place in your dash...........after that is done install your pioneer unit push it in place apply power by turning car on..........pioneer deck should turn on and work if it does not turn right on look for a source button on the pioneer unit and hold it down till the unit turns on
hope i was able to help
i have had this deck since December 06 when it first came out. Retail was around a grand but with an employee discount price was only three hundred. For whatever reason the motorized face does not work well when the interior gets hot. I do believe it is a defect in the deck. If your deck can be returnded get rid of it. I originally thought the problem was due to low voltage going through the deck, but it has nothing to do with that. People will inform you to replace a ribbon on the unit, but really why bother, more than likely it will fail again. P.S. if the unit does partially open you can still force it the rest of the way. I did this by pushing the face up while it was trying to rotate. Mind you I only resorted to this due to bring sick of the current cd, and I was on the way to installing another deck. If the deck will continue to work after forcing it open numerous times, i do not know.
