Question about RIM BlackBerry 7290
Phone is totally locked, no matter what. unable to re-install device software, USB does not identify the phone. Desktop manager will not see the phone.
Pulled battery, waited 10 minutes and put back in. No luck. Is there a way to short out pins, or is there a reset somewhere that I can stick a paper clip into?
Here is what you do, providing you already have Blackberry desktop manager on your computer... do not plug your phone in, but have the cable ready to connect quickly. make sure you are connected to the internet as well. go to the blackberry website or google 7290 OS update, download newest version (4.1 or newer), enter you service provider etc. (you have to do this before it will download), save it to your desktop. install it to your computer, then open BB desktop manager. now with the battery in your phone and the message displaying error 400 reset - push the trackwheel in and quickly connect the cable and select install applications etc on BB Desktop manager. click next and follow the prompts, it takes some time, but it'll be back to new again.
