Hello,
After pressing the power button, tap F8 button. This will display OS menu then select safe mode. If the system is booting up in safe mode then please go to programs>accessories>system tools> system restore and restore to a date (bold dates) when your system was fine.If this does not work you may have to format the OS.
Thanks

Alt F10 to get to restore factory settings is not working

Click on the Start menu. Then, select all programs, Acer Empowering Technology and Acer eRecovery Management.

If this is the first time you have opened the program it will prompt you to set up a password and create a backup CD.

Click the Restore button and select the option that reads "Restore system to factory defaults".

Wait for the computer to finish the restore process and reboot.

Restoring for the Boot Screen

If your computer will not boot up properly, you can attempt to reach the restore option by pressing the Alt button and the F10 button at the same time.

When the eRecovery menu appears, choose "restore system to factory defaults".

Wait for the recovery process to complete and the computer to restart

hope this helps

Cano't change from speaker 2 earphones. volume on speaker alltime

Hi,

It is a conflict of drivers in some PC's.

First make the sound device to speaker as default.

1. Click Start, type Sound in the Start Search box.
2. Click Sound in the search results at the top of the Start menu.
3. Click the Playback tab. Notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is Speakers. Make sure that your audio settings are configured as expected.
4. On the Playback tab, select the playback device, click Configure, and then make sure the configurations are set correctly.
5. In the Playback tab if you are unable to find the Speakers then please right click on any of the devices under playback tab and select Show disconnected devices and Show Disabled devices.
6. Select Speakers, and then click Set Default. (If you find Conexant or anything similar to that click on it and select Set Default)
7. Click OK to save your settings and to close the Sound dialog box.
If speaker is set as default, then re-install drivers.

Uninstall the Sound device:

1.Click Start, and in start search type device manager and press enter.
2.Expand sound, video and game controllers, and right-click on the Sound driver and choose uninstall.
3.Check the option for delete the device software for this device.
4.Now restart the computer and boot into normal mode.

Now, uninstall the programs and features:

1.Click Start, and in Start search type programs and features.
2.Choose the audio application and click on Uninstall.
3.Restart the computer.

Upon restart, install the audio driver from the disc which is given by manufacturer of the computer.

Please let me know if this works.

Regards,

Nags

About my loptop

Try right-clicking anywhere on the blackened area of your desktop, a menu might appear. Scroll down to Properties and click. In the Display Properties window click on the Settings Tab and see if you can re-adjust your screen resolution here, if not then read on...

Power off the laptop. Power on the laptop while holding the F8 key or both the SHIFT and F8 key together, if it boots to the Windows start up screen, power off and try again. This will bring up a menu, you will want the BOOT INTO SAFEMODE menu option.

After the safemode boot process, see if your laptop will display graphics (it should default to 640x480 mode and you should be able to view most of your desktop icons). Right click any where in a black area on your desktop, a menu will appear. Scroll to Properties and click. In the Display Properties window, click on the Settings tab and adjust your screen resolution from here.

Let me know if this works or not.
