Re: turns off over and over again and agin for about...
When it shuts down press menu and input buttons both in together on the front panel of the set and see if the indicator will blink a two digit error code, then let me know the code and also verify the model number of your mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi has problems with the thermal sensor going bad. They extended the warranty for several sets. The sensor is right by the lamp. Call mitsubishi and insist they do something for you. If you keep playing your set, the bulb could also be at risk. I would think your set is covered being a 62" set. Good-luck and be sure to act ASAP.
Good day, BrianJack608;
Sounds like you may have a circuit problem, the convergence IC's may have failed, the STK's IC's is very common problem with TV. Before you attempt replacing them try this:
THE CONVERGENCE CAN BE RESET BY PRESSING "MENU 12596" TO ENTER THE CONV MISC. MENU THEN "8970" TO RESET.
I hope this was helpful, good luck, big IRISH.
this set has 3 temperture sensors.If the set gets too hot it will shut down.
first clean the cooling fan as it may be full of dust.
if this is not the cure the one of the sensors is likely bad.
Sounds like something is overheating or it is getting noisy power from the mains.
Try leaving it off for a while and point a fan at it, if it turns on and stays on for longer then it is obviously a thermal issue.
Such a problem would need to be addressed by a qualified factory trained repair technician.
Sounds like you have a jammed / shorted out button on the control panel... Try un-plugging the tv, and then unplug the "button panel" on the front of the tv...see if you can turn the tv on with the remote. Sometimes if one of the buttons gets shorted, it will "lock" the processor from doing ANYTHING else, as it thinks you are holding down the defective button. If this works, simply have the defective switch or control panel replaced, or just leave it unplugged and use the remote only! Hope this helps!
the light engine is defective and needs to be changed..this set is not that old..contact mitsubishi customer relations to see about having it done under a customer accomodation, as they have had a lot of problems with the engines
