Download the latest firmware to your laptop.
Use an Ethernet cable to connect the laptop to one of the "wired" ports on the router.
Connect to the router's web-server interface.
Click into "settings" to find the screen that lets you update the firmware.
Select the downloaded file, and do the update.
Reboot the router.
The Barracuda Link Balancer is assigned a default LAN IP address of 192.168.200.200. You can change this IP address in one of three ways:
In the web interface, go to the BASIC > IP Configuration page.
Connect a VGA monitor and a keyboard to the back of the Barracuda Link Balancer. Use the serial console. (username admin, password admin)
Press the RESET button on the front panel.
Pressing RESET for five seconds sets the LAN IP address to 192.168.200.200. Pressing RESET for eight seconds changes the LAN IP address to 192.168.1.200. Pressing the button for 12 seconds changes the LAN IP address to 10.1.1.200. You will notice the three LEDs on the front panel flash at the same time intervals.
Look at the web log under 'basic'. Select destination filter, type in youtube - it will tell you what part of it is being blocked. If you see everything allowed, then you have some other problem, like a timeout from YouTube because your file is too big, or it is another network problem.
I guess you are not the administrator, and you want to surf without being blocked. The barracuda blocks websites url, but it does not block by ip address. so click on windows' start button, then click on run, type cmd and click on ok, a black window will appear, type ping google.com (it is an example, you can try with ping myspace.com .... and so on) Then you will see a series of numbers, the ip is for example 188.8.131.52 type that in the address bar and there you go, but it does not work allways, somewebsites redirect the ip to the url and then the barracuda blocks you.
You can also look for some proxywebsites and they let you surf with out notifying the barracuda box.
Lets get back to basics, what I want you to do is to turn off your windows firewall for now, reset your router/firewall to its default configuration. How to do this This can be found in your users guide (Hard Reset). Once this is done then I want you to connect your DSL upto the Router and your PC to one of your LAN ports. It (the router) should give you an IP Address at this point, then I want you to use your web browser to log into the web UI of the device once there you will need your ISP provided login ID and password. choose PPPOE and after you input those (login and password) into the proper dialog box. then from your PC try to perform these tests:
ping to the router 192.168.1.1 (ping 192.168.1.1)
ping to the ISP gateway address (ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) (xxx=The octets of the address of the ISP router)
ping to a site on the internet (ping www.dslreports.com)
you shouls at least be able to ping to the gateway (ISP router) of your ISP.
I beleve that this will get you up and running
