If there isnt a line up the postive, then usually the wire on the inside is a different colour, ie. bronze/copper for positive and silver for neg.
Strip a section from the base and take a look!

Did you swap speaker to a different channel and put another in its place to see if the problem follows the speaker or stays on that channel? That would me my next move if it's possible to do. Let me know.

I have an older JVC Shelf Unit with the main control unit in the middle and a left and right side speaker that contains a built in subwoofer on each side, lately the Speaker cuts in and out at higher...

It's one of three things things:
First, examine where the speaker wires are plugged into the receiver. Are any of the copper strands touching one another? If so, remove the excess stripped wire and reinsert it. Problem solved.

Test two: bad speaker. to test, swap the speakers (hook the right speaker to the left speaker jacks and the left speaker to the right speaker jacks). If the RIGHT side now cuts out, you have bad speakers.

If the speaker on the LEFT jacks still cuts out, your amplifier is going bad (which could cost between $50-$200 to repair).

Hi,
There is no speaker cable extensions available for your system but if you goto www.BogueEngineering.com you will find speaker cables with the special connector and they come in any custom length you need, even if you need 100 feet speaker cable you wil get it and they also come in many different heavy duty gauges. You can also email these guys at

Need to find which is the ground wire for the speakers from aiwa cx-naj14

The ground wire is the one with either the stripe, running the length of same, or the black wire, or the grey
wire or the green wire or whichever of many coding systems in use on your speaker leads and always
designated on the back of the speaker as the (-) negative lead and on the back of the unit, if using RCA
PLUGS as the body, not the tip of the lead.
