My dell vostro 1510 turns on but the screen remains off, completely black. What should I check for a diagnosis?

Always start with checking the connections/cables. If they are secure, verify that the monitor is set to display the correct signal (ie. Analog or Digital by pressing the buttons on the monitor) You should see text on the monitor screen letting you know the display type.

My monitor screen goes completly black and then comes back on again?

It could be a couple of things. The power cord could be coming loose, or the display cable could be also loose.
Other things it could be the actual display cable could have some sort of short in it. Have you tried trying another outlet to plug it in to?

It is one of two possibilities, bad inverter board, or the back lights behind the display has failed. It is usually cheaper to replace the monitor than have it repaired.

My Touch sreen IQ 770 PC completely black out ... Windows not showing .How I solve the problem ? Thks

You need to determin if the display is defective or the video card.
Connect a know working display to your PC and if you are able to view the display, your video card is fine and the display must be defective.
Try connecting the display to another PC and see if it works, if not your display is defective.
I hope this helps.
Good luck and have a great day.

Ok try this, at boot up press F8, when the Menu comes up, choose Safe Mode, but this time instead of going to the desktop, choose System Restore, follow instructions, and when the Calender type window comes up, simply choose a time BEFORE, the time it went faulty. This should completely restore you to working again. As long as there are NO other problems.

it will eject if you press the external button as the 5V/12V (red yellow black) cable is OK. The data (ribbon) cable is not correctly connected to the main board. Check your motherboard manual for correct orientation.

Monitor displays a black half circle 1.5 inch diameter in upper left conrner of screen.

Depending on the age of the monitor, this could be a symptom of a failing LCD display (or CRT tube, if you're using one of the older styled big ones). one way to test for sure though, is if you have access to another computer (whether it be desktop or laptop, shouldn't matter) and hook it up to that one and see if the same thing happens. If it does, then you know that your monitor is at fault. If you are within manufacturer's warranty you can usually get it repaired through your place of purchase, or directly with the manufacturer themselves, but if not, then repairs are usually not worth it, and will probably cost more than the monitor is currently worth.

You most likely have a bad connection inside the unit. Specifically, there are a couple of "backlights" that provide the light that will pass thru the LCD panel. If you can open up the unit, with the screen facing up, there should be a small PC board on the right. Check the connections on that board. Be careful as there is high voltage there.

The builtin video card is probably bad. Yes, you can get a PCI video card.
