Question about GE (PSS26MSRSS) Side by Side Refrigerator
My GE refrigerator has a problem cooling the upper part of the freezer. The lower freezer and fresh vegatable portions are cool, but I don't see the fan inside working to blow the air around the freezer. The coils had frozen over and after I shutdown the power for about 20 minutes, the heather came on and defrosted the coils. I replaced the fan motor, but when I push the door switch the fan doesn't start. I have changed the temperture settings to 8 and I saw the coils frozen again, when I turn the temperture back to 3 the coils loose the frost and look cold but not completely frozen. How can I test to see if the fan is getting the power to statr running?

Most newer GE fridges have dc fan motors controlled by a computer board. Sometimes the board just fails and sometimes the fan can cause the board to fail.

If you have replaced the fan already then the next item is the computer board located in the rear of the refrigerator behind a plate held by 10 screws. Should be part # WR55X10552
