Hi. I would try reapplying the firmware onto the remote in safe mode. That is the equivilent of resetting the remote. Here's how to do it:
1. Remove the battery, press and hold the 'OFF' button, and re-insert the battery. The screen will display 'Safe Mode!', or the 'Activities' button will be lit. 1. Update the firmware:

- Update the remote.
That will get the remote out of safe mode.
The harmony remotes have a built in safe mode, similar to a Windows XP computer. Usually you enter the safe mode on the harmony remotes by taking the battery out, then pressing the power off button and holding while putting the battery in. If you continue to press the power off button, the remote will display safe mode on the screen.
If you are not doing the above procedure and you are still getting the safe mode on the display of the remote, I would try to update the firmware on the remote. And if you have an RF Extender, update the firmware on it at the same time.
