There is no default code, try the following.

1. Look in glove box for small sticker with numbers, should be 5 digits with numbers no greater then 6.
2. Pull out the ashtray and see if the sticker is on the back of there.(older models that have them)
3. Pull radio from dash and write down radio serial number and call local dealer with that number and they will be able to get the code for you. They will ask verifying questions.
4. If you happen to have all the books from the dealer look in the 'HONDA SERVICE HISTORY' book, NOT the owners manual. It should be on the first page in the AUDIO CODE box.

Some say if you turn off radio and hold the 1 and 6 preset buttons then turn radio on it will give you the serial number. feel free 4 further assistance .rate the particular experts solution as fixya that helps u understand n solve ur problem

Sir,

the radio is locked in anti-theft mode and requires a code to reactivate it. on a honda when the radio loses power the logic is that the reason it lost power is someone removed the radio (as in a theft). to make the radio inoperative to the theif the radio is locked into an anti-theft mode and can't be actiated unless you have the right code. the code is specific to each radio; there is no universal code.

there are a few ways to find the code.
1) look in the paperwork that came with the car. there should be a white credit card with the anti-theft code on it.

2) if that's not to be found, look inside the glove box for a white sticker that would be placed on the walls of the glove box. it may have 5 numbers on it or a string of 9-10 letters and numbers. or two rows with the 5 numbers above the 9-10 letters and numbers. If you find the 5 numbers on the sticker, that is your radio reactivation code and you can enter that to reactivate the radio.

3) if you find the 9-10 letters and numbers sticker, that is the serial number for your radio. if you call a honda dealer and give them the serial number they can get the code for you

4) if you can't find the sticker in the glove box, look behind the ash tray (if there is one in that car) or look under the trunk lid as some dealers put the stickers there instead of in the glove box.

5) if you can't find the stickers then you'll have to remove the radio to get the serial number off of the back of the radio. The radio codes are individual to the radio and not to the car and there is not other way to do it at that point.

Thanks
Good Luck

I dnt know how to hook my sony explode cdx gt 200 to my honda civic hatchback 94

The Honda Civic requires a dash adaptor you need this wiring harness to install the stereo it dont seem a dash adaptor is required for the 94 model you use the cage/sleeve to install the sony in your car you will also need this removal tool and either wire nuts, heat shrink tubing, crimp caps and crimp tool or the common solder and wrap in electrical tape method to connect the wiring harness for the honda to the wiring harness for the stereo

1998 honda civic lx manual , how to remove stereo panel and replace a new one?

Kind of a pain in the ****, but you have to remove the panel under the radio controls ( where the cigarete lighter is) to do this youll also have to remove the console around the shifter, then after thats removed you have to look up under the dash where the radio is, and theres some 10mm bolts you have to remove, after there out u can stick your hand up there and push the radio forward

CDX-RA700 will not get power from my Honda Civic

Automobiles use Direct Current "DC" and is very dependant on a good ground. The black wire from your stereo should be the ground and needs to be attached to the chassis "metal part of the car". You can use an ohm meter to check for grounds by placing one lead on your door hinge (unpainted) and the other to where you are connecting your ground from the stereo. Be sure that this wire does not have voltage on it with the key off, on acc, or in the on position or you could blow a fuse or damage your equipment. Besides that make sure that you have 12v constant to the (usually red wire) and switched (voltage only with the key on) to (usually the yellow wire). Hope that helps. It's mostly about the ground.
