Hi Just checking first of all you have tried another memory module. This sounds like a faulty RAM. Please try and get back to me if that doesn't fix it. Thanks, Lolita

reseat ram for a fast beeping and disconnect the power supply both the big and 4 pin connectors for 2-5 min plug in and boot. Plus you do not have to have pairs of mem only if you wand double data rate

Hi bob,

Is your onboard video busted? as i check your specs; you have these slots available in your motherboard

2 ( 2 ) x PCI ¦ 1 ( 1 ) x PCI Express x1 ¦ 1 ( 1 ) x PCI Express x16 ¦ 1 ( 0 ) x processor ¦ Memory

base from:
http://www.twenga.co.uk/specs-Aspire-T180-ACER-Desktop-PC-243132

so, you can go to your nearest computer shop and ask them for a videocard that uses PCI Express x16, if its for gaming then go for the higher specs, i can't assist you further with regard to the exact video card model though.

SOURCE: Processor update..

The problem with Store bought PCs is that there is no way to tell how fast a proccessor you can safely put into one before it becomes overclocking, but in theory your exact motherboard should support an AMD Athlon X2 5800+ 1000 Mhz FSB. Now if your willing to take a risk, you could buy a 6400+ but be warned, the computer may not recognize it, or it may just underclock the proccessor, if the processor supports 800 Mhz FSB. I said the 1000 Mhz FSB because it can underclock to that speed, and also because they no longer offer 800 Mhz flavors at the sites i order from. Hope that helps.

I would like to upgrade my Acer Aspire 4315 PC Notebook it has celeron processor 1.73ghz 533mhz fsb 2.53gb ram running on win xp pro what dual core processor can this laptop take?

Well most modern laptops cannot not be upgraded in this manner because the processors are hard soldered on the motherboards. Even if you have a removable type processor the newer dual cores will not be compatible with your type of motherboard.

CONFUSION WITH INTEL CORE DUO AND INTEL PENTIUM DUAL CORE!

You are worrying about nothing.

Intel Pentium Dual Core and Intel Celeron Dual Core are both Intel Core Dual processors.

The performance rate is mesured compared to a single core processor so your 2.2GHz dual core will do the same amount of work as a 4.95GHz single core.

Question about compatible cpu and motherboard

Hello,

The processor will work on a dual core mb. Most DC boards are design to support both solo and dual core proccessors. Once installed, the board will adjust speed and FSB to the specs of the processor. (As long as the processor is within operating range of the board you use.

Your computer has one of these options:

(1MB L2 cache, 2.13GHz, 533MHz FSB)
or
Intel® Celeron® Processor 550
(1MB L2 cache, 2.0GHz, 533MHz FSB)
or
Intel® Celeron® Processor 540
(1MB L2 cache, 1.86GHz, 533MHz FS
or
Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core Processor E1400
(512KB shared L2 Cache, 2.0GHz, 800MHz FSB)
or
Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core Processor T1400
(512KB shared L2 Cache, 1.73GHz, 533MHz FSB) spacer.gif

Check the features with Acer first and see if your motherboard model support that speed processor.
