Whirlpool Thin Twin Heavy Duty Agitator lint coming out of slots along it

Not sure if a problem, but I noticed on the agitator that there was heavy lint type residue peeking thru the slots on the agitator. I took tweezers and tried pulling some of it out, but wasn't real successful. Is this normal, or should I try to get inside the agitator. And If I do have to get inside, how is that done.
I didn't purchase this unit - it came with the mobile home I purchased. So I have not manuals to refer to for this problem.
Thank you for your help

You asked for the model # - LTE5243D02. I also wrote down the serial #MK3321090. These are the only numbers I have found.

    Hope this helps.

In the machine there should be a lint grabber or filter, Ensure its clean and propperly sealed,

From the best of my knowledge from not being present there to experience the problem it seems as if lint is folding on the agitator, the is a problem with the filter if it has one

I have kenmore 80 series heavy duty/ super capacity plus washer that after it fills with water, hot or cold and it starts the wash cycle, I noticed that the agitator only moves once in awhile and stops

hum either a bad timer sticking the point contacts close. have u tried this in all cycles? and possibly a motor with bad windings not enough power to run agitation? try running in mild or gentle and see what happens? I was tempted to say the cam dogs in agitator but they dont work then stop then work, when they go out they go out.

Whirlpool ultimate care II agitator seems as if it is not woking properly

this is for the whirlpool washer,if you grab the top of the agitator can you spin it both ways without it grabbing,it should only spin one way,if you can spin it both ways you have bad dogs, the agitator cam kit part number is 285809 and it's around 13 dollars.pop off the center cap of the agitator, remove the 7 1/6 inch screw in the middle and pull off the top of the agitator to get at the dogs, you'll see them there are 4 of them, they waer down and the top of the agitator doesn't work.watch this video.

I have a whirlpool super heavy duty capacity plus top load washer and during the cycle the spindle does not move.. What part would I need to fix it and how would I go about fixing it??

I suspect the agitator dogs are worn out. Remove the cap or sfotener dispenser, remove the plastic cap under neath and remove the 7/16" bolt. the agitator will then come out. Pull the top part of the agitator straight up with a jerking motion to separate it from the bottom. Replace agitator dogs, you will see how they go in once you get it apart. Part available HERE. They run about $5.00 or less....

Where is the filter?

Hi,
To find the filter you need to do the following steps. Find your lint trap. Lint traps in washing machines can be in the agitator (the large plastic piece in the center of the tub), at the top of the washer on the rim of the tub, or attached to the washing machine's drainage hose. Pull out the agitator tube to check for the lint trap. Peel any loose lint from the filter. Scrub away lint that doesn't peel off easily with a heavy-duty paper towel or a wet sponge. Feel your way around the top rim of the washing machine's basin. If you locate a trap, pull it straight out of the machine. Peel away loose lint and follow up with a wet sponge or heavy-duty paper towel. Check your machine's drainage hose for an attached lint trap. Remove the trap and peel the top layer of lint off. Rinse the trap in low-pressure, warm water. Reattach to the drainage hose. Check for and remove any lint or debris that may have dropped into the washing machine basin during the cleaning.

Top half of agitator turns free (does not agitate)

You will need a set of agitator dogs. Pull off your agitator cap and look under it, you will see 4(four)small tabs that catch and release the top 1/2 of the agitator.

Good Luck!

Have you checked the agitator? There may be sharp edges on the agitator blades. OR the towels may be getting stuck under the agitator and tub bottom. The agitator is supposed to suck the clothing down in the center and forcibly throw the clothing outwards against the tub. The cycle then repeats.
