Look for debris under or around the carrier (print head) try doing the start up with the ribbon & L/O tape out. Put a little WD40 on the shaft and rails that the carrier slides on.

How do I reset the AE-800 to forward the ribbon? A repairman showed me once but I have lost the "cheat sheet"

While holding the code key down press the period key then release. If this does not work turn off typewriter. Insert a sheet of paper in the t/w in the wide position. Turn on t/w while holding down the MR and #1 key. The t/w will start printing on it own. Allow it to print out 7 lines and then turn the t/w off. That should reset the typewriter.

Describe your nakajima ae-800 Problem : When I press the correction key it sometimes does not stop correcting . What's wrong with the machine ? My supplier told us to change 2 key switches and lift off...

It sounds like the correction key is sticking down or you had a keyboard spill. Press the correction key and see if it comes up quickly. If not gently pry the key off look for debris or stick residue under it.

The roller on the Standard 300 - Olympia is stuck in the paper release mode

On the RHS on the top of the machine there is a lever, forward or back positions hold or release the paper. Sounds like you dont have a manual....go to www.nadist.com and download the Nakajima manual for the AE-800 ...its the same machine.

When turn on typewriter there is an continuous beeping/screeching noise and will not operate.

Remove print wheel to ensure its not jamming, switch machine back on and see if carriage returns to the LHS home position. If it does not and the carriage is just shaking and the noise is still there, you may have a defective carriage motor or defective power supply.

Nakajima AE 800 will not underline words with new ribbon

Check to be sure the ribbon is fully down and latched, also be sure the L/O tape is not sitting to high and stealing the underscore.

Be sure the printwheel is not wrapped up with the ribbon or lift off and that the spokes on the wheel are not bent.
