Your car cold start valve puts more gas into the system keeping your engine running higher RPM. When you car warms up, the cold start valve will stop working and your car RPM will drop. What you could have is a vacuum hose disconnected which puts more air into your engine - therefore when you press on the gas pedal, your engine would shut off or you find lack of power and then shut off.
in high temps AC units undergo whats called thermal inversion. This is when it blows hot inside and cold outside. I do not believe there is a fix for this. Maybe it is not properly sized for you room? If your unit is too small, it may be working too hard and inverting.

If temp on limit reaches max temp what happens gas valve deenergized,as MTR continues to run begins to lower temp. Thus reenergizing valve
Check filters,MTR speed for heating
Is this a window unit? Sounds like the compressor may be cutting on and off. That would cause the alternating air temp you are feeling. Make sure the condenser fan is running. If it isn't running head pressure will build up on the compressor until it shuts down. Then the pressure will equalize and the compressor will kick on again. Also check your filters and the condenser coil to make sure it is clean. Let me know what you find.

Check the Following Is your filter clean? Look and the evaporator in the inside unit. Is it frosted up? Do you have condensation water in the pan? Go to the outside unit and feel the air coming out of the fan. Is it warm? Now feel the 2 copper pipes coming out of the unit. Is the small one warm or hot? Is the larger one cool ? Is there moisture on it? Air conditioner runs but doesn't cool at all If the airflow is good and the air coming out is not cold, your home air conditioning problem may be a temporary problem - your coils may have frozen. Turn the unit off for an hour to let them thaw, then try again. If cold air is now present, freezing coils were the problem; if the problem recurs soon after turning on, you may need to replace the coils. Again, call a pro. If you have ceiling vents in upstairs rooms and the air flowing from them is consistently warm, you probably have leaky or poorly insulated ductwork in your attic. Another likely home air conditioning problem if you have good airflow but no cooling is that thebreaker to the outside unit is shut off, which, depending on the installation, can either cause the air conditioning system to not run at all, or to appear to be running but not provide any cooling. If you can hear the compressor fan running outside, the breaker is on, but if the outside unit is silent the outside breaker may be off. If the out door fan keeps running and the compressor cycles off that would be the overload in the compressor.
What keeps the windings cool is the refrigerant back to the compressor.
For the overload to cycle it would have to be either not enough cooling back to the compressor or high amp draw, which could be the metering device (txv or orifice) or low on charge, or other things would be a bad capacitor, sometimes a bad start relay not staying open, when compressor gets up to speed or anything causing the compressor to draw high amps.
To check the refrigerant, he needs to check the superheat at the compressor it should be appoximately 12° to15°, and next time the compressor goes off if you shut the power off and feel the top of the compressor and if it's hot 130° or higher it's probably refrigerant.
Sounds like you may be able to fix it by flushing your antifreeze and back flushing the heater core. Some car owners cheep out and put stop leak into the antifreeze, others dont change there antifreeze at all. Both are mistakes.
