GE Washer overflow....fill valve is working...logic on machine is correct..It starts agitation cycle but water continues to flow into barrel. If I manually turn off the cold water the water input switch resets while it is running and water stops running into machine. I noticed a capacitor inline with the water input switch....could it be this capacitor?

SOURCE: GE Profile will not run cycles. Runs water continuously.

OK, i would do a hard reset by unplugging for 2 minutes. if the problem still exists, this is defiantly a malfunctioning relay. it will have to be replaced.

SOURCE: GE SpaceMaker washing machine does not stop filling.

try replacing your water selenoid coming in. remember it isnt a mechanical timer it is a computerized timer, so if the selenoid isnt the problem, it might be the computerized timer. computers are very finicky, pain in the a- -!

SOURCE: GE washer won't spin

Have you tried to blow out the air in the tube that connects to the water level switch control? Sometime that will get blocked. You will need to make adjustments here because the air in the tube determines how much water fill the drum.

I put in a load. The machine filled up but did not stop filling. The dial did not proceede to next step, it stayed at the 10. Overflowing EVERYWHERE. When we moved the dial manually to spin, it drained...

your fill switch is either bad or "gllitched" and the timer cannot move until this switch senses the right amount of water for the load unless its an electronically sensed water/load capacity filled machine, when it starts, the water fills the unit and the pressure switch shuts the water fill off when at selected water level and powers the timer to continue the wash cycle,it works off a "bellows" on air pressure to change a switch by air pressure to operate the machine when full of water

Water overflowing - GE wvsr1060a1ww top loading washer

since the water stops running in and goes to the agitation mode when you blow on the tube, it is more than likely the pressure switch - one thing to check though, put it in the fill cycle [with water running in] and unplug the power cord. the water should stop running in. if it doesn't, the fill valve is sticking open and should be replaced

Water dose ot stop when washer is full. It continues to run.

If you disconnected power and water still flowed, replace the water valve. If water stopped flowing when power was disconnected, clean out tube from tub to water level switch.

GE Washer WHDRR418E1WW overflows the tube. Yikes.

A washer that over flows in the fill cycle sounds like a faulty pressure switch. Part # WH12X10069 and 10 on this diagram. If it overfills the tub when the washer is off it's a faulty water valve. Best of luck Ryan

Maytag washer PAV2300 water over flow

from what I am reading on-line, it is the mix valve, aka water valve. Unplug the washer, then see if it still fills. If so, it's most likely stuck open, and needs to be replaced. about $22.00

Maytag washer PAV2300 water over flow

tidalwave If the water continues to flow even when the washer timer and the power to the washer are off then you are right and the water inlet valve has to be replaced. If it does it only when the washer is on then it could be different problems. In that case the first thing you have to check is the water level switch. This is the device which controls the water level. Remove the power first.Open the control panel and you will see the switch on the left side. There is the clear plastic hose connected to the switch. Make sure the hose is not loose. This is one of the most common cause of overflow. If it got loose, drain out all water from the washer before you reconnect the hose. If this is not the issue then you have to check the continuity across the water level switch therminals. When there is no water you should measure the continuity across therminals 11 and 12 (gray and orange wires). Whet the tub has filled up with water you should measure the continuity across therminals 11 and 14 (gray and light blue wires). If the continuity is wrong replace the water level switch. If you are going to do it, make sure there is no water in the tub before you will remove the clear plastic hose from the old switch. Good luck. Gendos. post back...
