Question about Whirlpool LSB6200KQ Top Load Washer
I am looking for some help before I pay a repairman for a visit. Hopefully, I can fix this problem myself.
Whirlpool washer - don't have model number, etc. with me. Approximately 16 years old.
About 10 seconds after start - water loading - the circuit breaker kicks off.
At the same time, the washer gives off a burning smell - not unlike a balster (sp) on a flourescent light bulb.
I tried several time with the same results - circuit breaker kicks off and the smell is given off.
Welcome to FIXYA
sounds like you have a short in the wires and the burning smell is the wires burning from touching ...check the wires and look for any blackness anywhere or if you see smoke anywhere ....
my advice is see if you can find the short before pulgging it back in if not call a repair man could cause a fire
hope this helps you out have a good day:)
