Ink waste absorber

Waste absorber is full I have a pixma mp600 and get the message error 5800 - service necessary. On-screen I get the message 'Absorption pad is full'. No button works but the power on/off button. My manual doesn't give the name of any button. So I don't even know which button is the 'resume'-button on my mp600(solution 1 or 2). I tried the 'ok' button and the 'cancel' button in that procedure but none of them works. Anyone any ideas? greetings, Lionel

MY Pixma IP90v has an error message waste tank full. Can I fix that myself or do I have to take to a repair station?

It's time to replace 3's WASTE INK ABSORBER KIT & reset waste ink counter.
The WASTE INK ABSORBER KIT is approx. USD10/pcs
You should send it to service centre

I am getting an 5800 error

Ink Absorber Replacement OptionsThis printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the printing and print head cleaning processes. The cleaning process is necessary in order to keep the print head nozzles from becoming clogged. Over the life of the printer, the amount of ink that the ink absorber has absorbed is calculated by the printer. Eventually, after substantial use, the printer will enter an error condition when the ink absorber is nearly full. At this point, printing is still possible. Press the <OK> button to release the error. You will still be able to print for a short period. To protect the printer from damage, you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.
Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. We are aware that there are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own risk
the 5800 code. uplug cord from outlet. wait 1 full min, then plug in and let go through self test.
