The drivers for vista and windows 7 are probably the same. As long as you performed an upgrade and all your original programs and data are still there. there is no point in updating drivers unless you are expieriencing problems.
there are two reason for ur problem a) when windows XP fails to allocate a drive letter to your portable
drive(pen drive) b)some other technical faults in your pendrive to solve ur problem follow these steps below
Right click on My computer icon->Select manage->Select Computer
management->Select Disk Management under the storage section
the right side will show you all of the current drives and partitions
on your drive.
If you don’t know which is your pendrive, don’t worry,
just find the drive you are looking for in the graphs at the bottom.
They are usually named Disk 0, Disk 1, CD-ROM, CD-ROM1, etc.
looking for a USB flash drive, you’ll see the word “Removable”
underneath Disk X -> Now right click on the icon -> Select Change
drive letter and paths -> Assign a new Drive letter-> click Ok.
Now your pen drive will be detected in the computer.
there is an another way to solve ur problem
After plugging in the device. Go to device manager (In run type
"devmgmt.msc") In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus
controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected
to your PC. Right click and then click "Uninstall. Remove the USB drive
and restart your system.
Try connecting the device again, i think this should solve the
First of all you need to scan the Flash Drive using update antivirus. Can you format the drive somehow? if so do it. You can recover the data later using data recovery apps such a Recover My files. If this doesn't work then there might be a damage with the Storage Device.. Good luck..
I have had a different problem with this product. But, I have read many postings on its problems. It seems that for certain hard drives the jumper should be set for something other than 'master', either CS or no jumper at all. This seems to be true for only certain HD's.
