Sorry this tv is not worth as a whole tv anymore, except for it salveges electronic boards for other LCD tv the same model, that it.Because LCD screen panels are in limited in productions by the tvs comporations,by replacing LCD screen panel and only place u can buy the LCD screen panel are the tvs corporations themselves, they'll sell it to u,but they'll charges u the new LCD sreen panel the same as a new tv.
Sorry u out luck,no where u will able to buy the LCD screen panel, the only place u can buy a LCD screen panel is at the Vizio tv Corporation itself. The tv LCD screen panel are limited in production. They'll sell it to u,but they'll charge u the same as a new tv.Tries trade the tv it in with the Vizio tv Corporation,u can get like 10% or 20% off toward a new tv.That all u could do.Or u only can sell the tv that have a crack sreen panel tv for it electronic boards for parts that it to get some money toward ur next new LCD tv purcharse.
I believe she had damage the screen TFT (Thin Film Transistors that drive each LCD Red, Blue, Green pixels, there are about a million of them on the screen). The sreen is very delicate. You can ask local repair shop for second opinion.
You probably need a new optic block. The part alone is approx. $900.00. Sony has had this issue with most of their rear projection LCD televisions. Sony was offering to either repair the tv or give you a substantial credit [$1100.00 or so] towards the purchase of a new Sony LCD flat screen but I believe this program ended in December of 2008. You may still be able to call Sony customer service and plead your case. Good luck!!
