Stevanos said: hand wheel is clipped on and must be pulled off, but requires some muscle. I had to pry it off.
I was chipping the inside edge of the wheel with one flat blade screw driver as I tried to pry it off. I finally got it off with using even pressure by using a putty knife on one side and the flat blade screw driver on the other side. Thanks for the help stevanos!

...mine could not be pried off since the clip was entangled up with threads debris that had been accumulated over the years. The solution was to remove the base of the machine, unscrew the side panel and bend it so it could - to some extent - be rotated around the hand wheel to the side. That gave me some opening to could come in and remove the the nest by 'minimal invasive surgery'.

Thanks,
Mattias

Wound thread around the hand wheel

You should be able to pull the cover of the hand wheel off. Just firmly grab the hand wheel and pull straight back.

Thread caught in spinning handle

The hand wheel is just snapped on. If your thread is tight around the shaft it will be very hard to remove and will have to be gently pried off with a pair of screwdrivers.

I have a husqvarna H Class E10 sewing machine. The hand wheel has tighten up on me. I can not loosen it.

I suspect the main bearings and other rotating parts need to be cleaned of old lubricant and regreased. This obviously requires dsassembly of the maching. Unless you're a mechanic, leave it to the repair person.

Hand wheel not moving

Check bobbin area. Clean feed dogs with brush to remove lint balls & any loose threads. Use gentle back and forth motion on hand wheel to see if you can loosen debris. Be VERY gentle so you don't interfere with timing. Usually you will bring up one thread caught in feed dogs and you can sweep it out. If that's case here, I recommend inserting new needle, flat side back and make sure you raise presser foot before rethreading to open tension discs. Good luck. Jimmy

My viking 6570 sewing machine needle will not pick up the bobbin thread

Remove the bobbin case and lean the machine back. Bring the needle down as low as it will go using the hand wheel. Locate the tip of the needle in the bobbin area. Rotate the hand wheel forward and as the needle rises, you should see the tip of the hook cross the back side of the needle, moving left to right. If it is crossing below the eye of the needle, find a qualified repairman. If it crosses above the eye, try a new needle and make sure that the flat side is installed toward the back.

My Husqvarna Zig Zag Model 10 30 has seized I can't even turn the wheel for the needle manually, do I just oil as many parts as I can and keep trying?

Yes, but try turning the hand wheel towards the back of the machine (if you are facing the hand wheel, turn it clockwise) and pick up some self penetrating oil such as Tri-Flow. I would bet that the bind is either behind the hook or on the top shaft towards the right side.

The foot pedal does not make the machine sew but it sounds like the motor is working. The machine does work when you manually turn the hand wheel. It was working before I put the cover on the machine.

Is the belt broken ?
Unplug, remove the side panel at handwheel and check....use the old one as a sample to take with you to buy a new one...DO NOT adjust the belt too tight on installation, it will overburden the motor.....or have the repair shop do the job for a little investment in peace of mind
