Question about Husqvarna Viking 1

Reverse sewing button stuck HELP!!

Model 6430 Viking has the reverse button located in the center of the stitch length dial. It is firmly jammed in the reverse position causing the machine to sew ONLY in reverse.
When I pull firmly on the button it will sew forward but goes back to reverse when I let go...It seems to be attached to a spring, inside. Possibly the top knob has not been installed correctly???? I have the same problem but for the husqvarna 2000 SL model. The reverse button appears to be stuck on. Tried the instructions in the manual to no avail.

I have the same problem with a husqvarna 2000.

    It is stuck in reverse.

A cam mecanism inside is very "sticky" and will not return to forward even though the spring is still attached.

    Any suggestions.

    Regards, Max

The mechanism requires lubrication from the back, would be best to have machine serviced.

SOURCE: reverse sewing button stuck HELP!!

MOdel 6430 has the stitch length and buttonhole selector on the same knob. It is the one on the bottom right side of the machine. I believe you may have selected the buttonhole by pulling out on the large round knob. You need to turn the knob back to 0 zero and push in. This should return the machine to normal mode.Adjust your stitch length to 3 and try it. The reverse knob in the center should also stick out so that it becomes operational again.

SOURCE: Viking sewing machine model 6430 will only sew backwards

bbragg77 is mostly correct. It is not the camstack. Although they will crack, but that is all together another problem. It is the stitch length/reverse mech. You can manually work it back and forth to free it and I like to use break cleaner to get it free then re lubricate. A good service shop can put you back in business. And yes Viking does not support 6000 series machines any longer.

SOURCE: stitch length not working and sticking in reverse

sounds like it needs servicing and cleaned. Suggest only using authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. You can find your local dealer at the Husqvarna Viking website http://www.husqvarnaviking.com and selecting "dealers" link.

Viking/Husqvarna 5710 sewing machine is stuck in reverse. Reverse button isn't stuck, but doesn't pop out by itself anymore. Stitch dial isn't in between stitches. Put wd40 in the insides, didn't help

Uh-oh. Don't use WD-40 on your machine... WD-40 becomes sticky with time and will seize the mechanics...

Wondering if there is a spring under the R button that perhaps is broken or collapsed.

How do I center the needle on a Viking 6430; there is no eccentric adjustment on the needle bar frame on this model.

Am having difficulty finding information on this machine.

Perhaps this machine is a left-needle position machine, ie the normal straight stitch sewing position is on the left, not centered. There are quite a few machines out there with this feature, Necchi is another. The needle only swings right when a decorative or zig-zag stitch is selected.

If it is actually a center-needle position machine, it is probably out of alignment. There is most likely an adjustment. For more help, you can also join some Viking user groups on Yahoo. Most members are very dedicated to the brand and would be able to provide some very helpful advice.

Husqvarna Classic 100 sew machine , pressed reverse button, now it sew reverse only!!! Please help! i pressed, i hold, turned off and on, nothing....... any ideas?

There is a permanent reverse position on the dial button behind the reverse where the stitch length is located. Check to see if you have positioned the knob to permanent reverse. The setting looks like a "U" turn arrow.

Toyota 5000 I picked up second hand. The reverse button does not push in and the fabric does not seem to feed through very well. Also the stitches are very small causing a bit of a mess from the bobbin...

Hi
You have to hold the reverse button in while you stitch backwards as you should only need to do this for a few stitches.
Check that the feed dog is in the up position. On my machine the lever is on the left hand side (on the end of the free arm).
Increase the length of stitches by turning a numbered dial to a higher setting.
This manual for a 5001 model might help, although it is French the pictures are very useful.

Viking 2000 6430? sewing machine, only sews in reverse.

Your stitch length dial is stuck. Your machine is in need of oil. If you open the back of your machine and see the bit that moves when you turn you stitch length dial. oil that bit and warm it with your hair dryer. It should become loose. It take a bit of warming and working the oil into the machine. You have to repeat this process a few times.

How do I reverse stitch on a singer 362 fashion mate model

The large knob in the center of the stitch length dial is a button, push it in to reverse stitch. Hold in as long as you need to reverse stitch, then release to resume regular stitching.

My model 210 is stuck in reverse. Can you help?

The only thing you can do to possible free the mechanism is to turn the lower dial back and forth a bit, from the position where it is in permanent reverse to the numbered area on the dial. Make sure the selector is not on the buttonhole position. That machine doesn't really have a history of that issue but anything is possible, especially if it has sat for awhile and not been used. If moisture was present where it was stored, it's possible the feed linkage is slightly rusted and simply stuck.

Husqvarna Model 6360 reverse button stuck

This problem comes about due to lack of useage usually. If the machine has been sitting for some time the grease inside hardens. The stitch length regulator, the pattern selector and the buttonhole mechanism could all be contributing to your problem. To fix it properly all three dials should be remove from the machine, disassembled cleaned, assembled and oiled lightly with a teflon lubricant. Since so much is removed from the machine doing this job, every setting in the machine is checked and or reset. It's a major overhaul and costs about $350 and only a handful of Viking Techs in the country can do it.
