What type interface is Sony MFD-17W-50D floppy drive?

Hi,

The interface is a standard floppy interface. That's all. Not IDE. You'll need a floppy adapter in order to use it.

Check your BIOS settings (both bootable CD's and bootable USB memory sticks can appear to older BIOS as Floppy drive's :-) )

Have original drivers on floppy but new PC has no floppy drv

Manufacturer web site is a good resource for drivers.

What did you do with the old computer, you have a network ... put your old computer on the network and use that floppy drive ... all you have to do is "share" the floppy and it will act as if the drive is on your new computer. Yo ucan also "map" the drive if you want.

Atari 2600 Console Power Adapter

The Atari 2600 adapter has the following information on it:

Input: 120V AC 60Hz 12W

Output: 9V DC 500mA

Positive tip

Make sure you test the power supply before you use it. I have 2 original atari power supplies, and they are both putting out about 15V DC, which may be why my atari's aren't working anymore!

How to use xf551 disk drive.

Here's how these old suckers work. You have to have an old (latest - late 1980s) DOS-based PC with the proper attachment cable for such a drive. Preferably an ATARI computer. You have to leave the disk drive flip switch OPEN until DOS loads, or it will give you an error message. After the old clunk DOS-based computer is finished loading, THEN you can close the flip switch (with a floppy disk in, of course). I can't give you exact instructions b/c I don't know exactly what kind of ancient PC you have. Here is a link to an YouTube video showing you about what to expect :(1986 Tandy):

Have fun! These are real pains in the neck compared to what we have now.
