you can use a pc and usb cable to save your favorites and then upload them to the other nuvi. You can download "Base Camp" software for free on the Garmin website. The software is quite powerful and can transfer your data for you.

Hi, I would like to know how I register my new nuvi 1450 ?

Hello there,
Registering the new garmin nuvi 1450 is quite simple. What you need to do is to connect the garmin nuvi 1450 to a computer that has internet on it. Then you go to www.garmin.com then you select the support link, https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm then a list will pop up, select product registration, it will prompt you to create a user name and password, then it will ask for some information about the garmin you are trying to register. Then it willbe registered.
Would be glad to know if this information helped you. Goodluck Elect_Comp

My Garmin Nuvi 250 w gets stuck on the screen showing a picture connecting a computer to Garmin. I have it in my car and resetting hasn't worked. any suggestions

Hello,

The nuvi is being put into mass storage mode (the mode used to transfer data back and forth to a computer). This is usually caused by using the wrong vehicle power cable.
The correct cable is Garmin part number 010-10723-06.

How do i upgrade my garmin nuvi 200 gps? (never been upgraded

Hello,

Download and install the Garmin commuicator plugin to your computer
http://www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/
This will allow the nuvi to transfer data back and forth to Garmin's server.
Connect your nuvi to your computer and run the Garmin WebUpdater to update the software on the nuvi.
Download and Install WebUpdater.
To update the mapping, you will need to purchase a map update subscription.
https://my.garmin.com/maps/chooseDeviceType.htm?
Once the subscription is activated and registered to the nuvi, follow the download instructions to download the map. This will usually take from 3 to 4 hours or more depending on your internet download speed.
The nuvi 200 is a discontinued model and you may want to consider upgrading to a new GPS as a new nuvi with lifetime mapping can be purchased for about $150.00.

The Garmin Nuvi 1300 was working gret. It was a Chrismas gift. It just stopped working it will not come on at all the screen is blank black. No signal will not turn on at all. Did not drop it or and other...

A Garmin Nuvi 1300 that won't start, freezes on 'loading maps,' or is acting erratically is symptomatic of having corrupt firmware.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data, and if it still is stuck, then updating your Nuvi firmware.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Garmin Nuvi 1300 running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

I wish to erase phone numbers, transferred from my cell phone to my Garmin 265WT when pairing the phone to the Garmin. These phone numbers came from my cell phone and I cannot remember who is associated...

I can help you with the phone numbers on your Garmin Nuvi 265WT.

The phone numbers transferred to your Nuvi are only supposed to be available when your phone is paired to your cell phone. Changing the entry on your phone should allow that entry to show up changed the next time it is paired with the Nuvi. Sometimes, a bluetooth mix up causes entries to be duplicated or entries' phone numbers to get repeated.

To correct this, I recommend backing up your favorites, clearing all user data (this hard reset will remove the phonebook info from your nuvi), and then updating your Nuvi' firmware to make sure the nuvi and cell phone bluetooth process runs as smoothly as possible in the future.

Follow these three steps to take to get your Nuvi 265WT running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin 265WT WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

How do I transfer routes to my Garmin nuvi 250

The Garmin Nuvi 250 does not support loaded routes. You'll have to load the waypoints, and then just go from one to the next, to the next. You can transfer the waypoints to the GPS unit with a USB cord.

Updating street information on my Nuvi 200

You can try to use a cable from a small camera with a mini USB connection. Your computer MIGHT recognize your GPS with this cable.

You can purchase newer maps in CD form, transfer the maps from your computer to an SD card and insert the card into your unit. You'll have to use Map Setup to choose the newer 2009 maps to display.

If either of these solutions solve your problem, please come back and let us know.

How to transfer garmin nuvi 250 favourites to sd card

take the CD card out of the Nuvi and mount it onto your PC in a separate drive (via card reader or something similar).

Connect the Nuvi to your PC and copy "/garmin/gpx/current.gpx" from the GPS drive to the drive with your CD card.

Should you ever want to load these onto a new GPS, just add that same file to the corresponding folder on your new Nuvi.
