Canon PIXMA MP810 All-in-One

Hi Again,
Just to let you know I haven't had any success with the MP810 printer. I've tried cleaning out all the drivers I could find for USB and cleaned out all the Canon files. Down loaded the relevant driver and reinstalled the canon soft ware, also downloaded the "Update for windows vista" file (KB940199), alas nothin' happened. Just a thought, and I could be down the wrong tak. I looked at every file in the win SYS folder where I might add I found the rob_a.sys and rob_v.sys and none of those files referred to canon. Should I be able to see this and could the file be hiding somewhere else where the computer is not being refered.

    Hi Benimur,
After weeks of struggling and many hours downloading, deleting etc. I tried plugging the MP810 printer into my lap top, which also runs on Vista Home. Everything worked perfectly. I then changed the lead from Lap top to Desk top and Lo & Behold it worked. The lead I used was from my Epsom printer. So suspect the lead from the canon is faulty. The only unanswered, and I might add don't care, question is why did the MP810 work perfectly from the old win 98 computer but when plugged into the new Vista computer it didn't. I have consequently condemned the lead to the trash can. I appreciate the help you gave and I have certainly improved my knowledge of drivers.

And Hello,

Appreciate the update.

Re rob_a.sys and rob_v.sys - they were for your Pinnacle PCTV Pro TV capture card. There are updated versions that works with XP and if I remember right, you I suggested for you to search where you can find the updated versions, download and try it they will likewise work with Vista.

Re Canon PIXMA MP810 All-in-One - try deleting it in your Printers and Faxes. Thereafter pls try the "New/Add Hardware" in your Control Panel rather than the "Add a Printer".

Cheers.

Oh well, back to the manuals then....

    Cheers.

Try this,

How do I remove the print head from my Canon MP810 printer for a clean? :o)

I just replaced my MP810 printer head. Procedure: open printer - remove ink cartridges - Pick up arm located on right side of cartridge holder- remove printer head by picking up by the cartridge slots. Place new printer head in holder - replace printer cartridges - press arm down and your done....However, the error message stays on and reset procedure doesn't remove it. Canon tech support said their solution (because of distance from canon support) is to replace MP810 with comparable printer, which came to $299 with 15% discount and free shipping. My solution, I’m checking out other printers.

The view screen on my Canon MP810 has lines across it when fully raised & can't be viewed. If the screen is only partly raised it is OK. Any ideas?

I just posted how I solved this same problem on my Canon Pixma MP810 printer. Check the FixYa problem site and see my solution.    cwollam@aol.com.
