It will help if you provide the make and model number of the dishwasher. Also it will be useful to know why you think the heating element is faulty.

Got 5 minutes of hot water then cold. replaced both elements and thermos. still 5 minutes of hot water. power bill increased nearly 400% in 30 days. HELP!!! please.

When the top of the tank is hot the upper thermostat removes power from the upper heating element and transfers the power to the lower thermostat and heating element. If the lower thermostat is defective, then the lower portion of the tank will not be heated and the supply will be greatly reduced. You replaced both elements however check that the lower element is coming on after ther upper one cuts out and is acutally working.
Check for power at the upper thermostat terminals where the power is sent to the lower thermostat and heating element. If there is no power then the upper thermostat should be replaced. If there is power then check for power at the lower heating element. If there is no power at the lower heating element then replace the lower thermostat.
If there is power to the lower heating element then it should be getting hot. If it is not, maybe defective. Another possibility is a broken dip tube. Check for a broken dip tube and replace if necessary.

If the dip tube is broken, the incoming cold liquid can mix with the out going hot liquid and cause it to seem as though you are running out.

Only blows out cold air no matter what i do, how can i fix this?

The heating element is broken. It's possible to fix but not practical. By the time u find the part nd order it then I'd have to find someone who knows what it is nd how to replace it. It will be faster nd cheaper to buy a new one.

THE TIMER IS NOT ROTATING(I CAN MANUALLY ROTATE IT,BUT IT DOES NOT MOVE WHEN THE DRYER IS RUNNING). DRYER DOES NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH HEAT AND IT TAKES LOT OF TIME (4HRS)TO DRY THE LAUNDRY.

You need to buy a new timer and replace it. Be careful when replacing the timer as there are many electrical contacts in the back of the timer so when remove it, please label all the wires. Please follow the instruction from the manufacturer how to replace the timer. Of course, make sure you unplug the dryer because the dryer is powered by 220~240 VAC not 110~120 VAC.
As for the heater, there are two possibilities. The first one is, part of the heating element is open circuit and therefore, there is not enough heat to your clothing. The second possibility is, your timer contacts is broken, when the timer asks for high heat, the electricity supposes going to all the heating elements, but since the timer contacts are broken, you have only part of the heating elements working. The heating elements are quite easy to replace but please replace the timer first. You may fix both problems once you replaced the timer. WL

I have a Elba Excelence cooker Px906. the lower heating element doesn't work. And the oven doesn't have enough heat. Is the element burnt out? If the answer is yes how can I replace it?

4 elements, 2 top , 1 back, 1 bottom. remove covers in oven to see rear and bottom if they heat.
possibly selector switch fault.
mine looks wired wrong from factory, cant for life of me see how it can heat as display indicates ???????????????????

I don't know anything about dryers so please bear with me. My dryer drum turns, fan blows, but wont heat. replaced heating element. Still no heat. Has 124 volts on both prongs of element. What should i do?...

Have you tried flipping the breakers @ your electrical box? Mine will do that at time when one breaker has tripped. It will have enough juice to run it but not heat it. IF that doesn't work there may be a broken wire to the heating element or possibly even a faulty heating element. I'd try the breakers first though.(Im not a professional I've just been a single mom for 18 years and have found myself working on all sorts of things and gaining knowledge from hands on experience) Hope it helps & works.

Heat is erratic

If you already tested the element, then test and eventually replace the following parts:

PS334206
Heating Element Connection Wire part 19 in diag (can be tested using multimeter, check for lose connection or broken wire).

PS347661 Lint Filter , Replace it.

PS383953 and _.gif PS987929 blower assembly (check for obstruction because of lint, and that wheel is working) part 10 and 11 on diag.

PS344510 Cycling Thermostat (can be tested using multimeter), part 8

PS351925 High Limit Thermostat (can be tested using multimeter)- part 15 in diag.

Refer to diagram below to locate parts:

The temperature takes a long time to heat up, almost an hour for the hottest.

If it is an electric range, then the main bake element (the bottom one) may have broken.

Mine did this after 4 years. It is simple to replace, an easy way to test this is to crank the temperature up full bore and put your hand near both the top and bottom elements. When your hand is close you should feel a definite heat source. If either is cold then it is most likely that it has broken.

Let me know if you want to change it yourself. Most ovens are pretty straight forward and I can talk you through the process once you've found a replacement element.

Or you could get an appliance serviceperson to come round and have a look.

Hope this helps.
