It looks like the stick needs to be formatted. The file system is probably corrupted and a format should fix it. Also while formatting choose FAT32 as the file system coz it is more reliable and remains intact for a longer period.Let me know if it worked.

Sai.

How do I transfer pictures from PC onto flash bar?

Hi Cheryl,

This is a fairly simple procedure if I am understanding your query correctly.
Assuming that the 'flash bar' in question is a standard USB flash memory stick, firstly click on "My computer". This will show you a view of all hard drives and CD/DVD drives installed in your PC.
Next, insert your flash drive into any USB port. Your PC will now detect the flash stick and will add a new icon to 'My computer' which represents your flash stick.
Take note of the drive letter assignment given to the flash drive, eg. "Removable drive E"
Now browse to your pictures you would like to transfer and right-click on the picture. This will open a drop-down menu and from here you simply select the "Send to" option from the drop-down menu.
It will now present you with a sub-menu from which you select your flash stick. ie. "Removable drive X", X being whatever letter your PC has assigned to the flash drive.

Please feel free to message me should you need any further clarification. I will gladly reply with further explanations.

Best wishes,
Graemevm

Try unplugging the computer from power, and the drive usb cable for ten minutes, this solve some problem on usb devices.

VAIO desktop does not recognize Sandisk flash drive

Most probably you have a drive letter conflict? If so, right click "My computer" choose "Manage" and locate "Disk management" - here, in the middle lower panel, you should be able to find your usb-memory stick, right click it and assign it a drive letter that you're sure is not in use.

My hp rz 1710 dont recognize sd card 4 gb

reasons for the problems u faced
1.system doesnot provide drive letter for ur sd card
solution:

1.Click Start, click Run, type compmgmt.msc, and then click OK. 2. In the console tree, click Disk Management. The Disk Management window will appear
3.On this disk management window, you can see some drives including the portable drive. Right click on your portable drive and click change drive letter and paths.
4. Now a assign a new drive letter which is not being used by any of your drives in My Computer.
5. After assigning the new drive letter your portable drive will show up in my computer with other drives

another way to solve

After plugging in the device. Go to device manager (In run type "devmgmt.msc") In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus

controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected to your PC. Right click and then click "Uninstall. Remove

the USB drive and restart your system.
Try connecting the device again, i think this should solve the problem.

Is there a way to remove the USB drives f, g, h, i, and j from my computer until they are being used like the usb ports on my old computer. I need those letters for network drive mappings.

Hi:
Unfortunately, that is your memory card reader on the front of your tower, and not just the USB ports. They are handy, but are assigned a drive letter. You can possibly disable them in your control panel, but then you would have to enable them every time you use them. Another option is to unplug the memory card reader cable from the motherboard, if you don't use them very often.

I cant open my usb device

Those memory sticks are not hot changeable. Try the stick in a different computer if you can't open then it is bad, and it can change the drive letter for your cd-rom. Remove stick reboot computer and make sure the cd-rom drive has the right letter if not search help for how to change drive letter. Rember to always rignt on task bar then safely remove hardware or buy a hot changeable. Please rate nr mysleuth

Verbatim 250GB External Hard Disk not recognized by PC

Almost always, when a USB drive doesn't assign a drive letter in MY Computer the issue is a Mapped network drive using the drive letter the USB drive is attempting to use.

With the drive connected, open DISK MANAGEMENT find the USB Drive, right click it and assign it an available drive letter.

Hello i bye today usb flash drive 8 gdgn-8 1.1 or 2.0 i need plug in because my compiuter need it i have window vista

Most flash drives are plug-n-play devices. Windows Vista should be able to handle this. Simply plug in your flash drive into an unused USB port. The computer will take less than a minute to recognize your device and assign a drive letter to it. Now it can be used as a removeable drive.

Hope that helped.
