Am using compaq desktop pc. While trying to use a study material CD in the DVD drive, it got struck and am not able to open the DVD drive using the buton in CPU. Also the DVD drive (G:) is not geting listed in "MY computer". Even in the boot option, its saying that "CD drive not installed". I was able to read/write DVDs before. only after inserting this particular CD, it got struck inside. Do i need to reinstall the Drive. Could someone help in fixing out this issue?

In case you're not able to eject the disc using the eject button, you can try right clicking on the CD/DVD drive under 'My Computer' and clicking on eject. If that fails as well, you can try to eject the disc manually by pushing a straightened paper clip or a pin into the tiny hole on front of the CD/DVD drive. You should be able to eject it using the last method.
Disassembling may be your only option, if the CD is Broken or jammed. Try rebooting and pushing the DVD rom button at boot. I had a DVD explode, I had to remove the drive and disassembling the DVD rom to remove all the pieces.
look a tiny hole in the front of the CD/DVD drive use a paper clip to pull out the tray, when you have the tray out use the EJECT bottom in the drive to close and wait 3 seconds and press again to open, do this at least 3 times.
There should be a button on the DVD/CD drive itself, just push that small button and the tray should eject. If you can't fine the button double click on "Computer" or "My Computer" highlight the DVD/CD in the list, right click on the DVD/CD and select "eject" from the list. The tray should now eject.
On the eject tray of the cd/dvd drive you will see a small pinhole use a pin and insert into that, the cd drive would eject, ITS A MANUAL EMERGENCY EXIT BUTTON ON ALL CD/DVD DRIVES, INCASE THE CD DRIVE DOESNT EJECT normally as your case here
