Do you have the latest drivers and BIOS from Acer website? It may be a bug that was fixed with a later firmware update or driver.

You have not mentioned your OS. I can only advise that you have the latest drivers for both. acer has a history of having problems with touchpad & keyboardso if still under warranty I suggest you get in touch with their service center (note-- they will take cognizance after this problem appears for 4 times!!)

I have an Acer Aspire 5517 and all of a sudden, the keyboard will stop working. The touch pad works fine but nothing on the keyboard (nothing! the letters, numbers, hotkeys) will work. Can anyone explain...

With an Acer, most likely the keyboard went out or the ribbon cable from the motherbaord came loose. The touchpad and keyboard are separate units so will work independent of each other. It's a simple replacement.

Touchpad scroller stopped working on my Acer Aspire 4920

Go to control panel and look for touchpad icon. You can change the settings in here. If there is no touchpad icon try the mouse icon as sometimes there is a touchpad settings tab in there. Hope this helps.

Keyboard + toucpad freezes

Might seem ovious but you may want to try Acer support and look for a new Driver.. Also check under Control Panel...Mouse options... and also check device profiles to make sure windows isn't loading a "docked profile which may disable touchpad and laptop keybaord use.
