Question about GE Refrigerators

Open Question

We have a GE Profile s/s double door fridge/freezer, MOD PSG29NHSBCBB No. ZH407560. The temperatures in the lcd panels have gone off, in Custom Cool panel HRS is flashing on and off and it is making a buzzing/clicking sound at the same time. Please advise what I can do before we lose hundreds of dollars worth of food! Thanks in advance. Sue

I have a PSI23SCRF with the same problem. HRS on custom cool panel flashes, then after a while the flashing stops and the refrigerator starts to display the temperature settings for the refrigerator and freezer, but they are not the recommended factory settings. Called the service center and all they could recommend was for a technician to come out and service it for $79.99.

The problem is damper assembly. In the damper assembly there is a door. This door opens and close with the help of motor. The damper is located between freezer and fridge section. The cold air from freezer section enters to fridge section via this damper door.---------- What repairmen did was proper, but may be that door is not properly got open, it got closed again.Or there is ice got collected between the freezer and freezer section, so this is not letting the cool air to pass from freezer to fridge.----------- ---------- This damper assembly needs to be replaced.Actually this door functions correctly with motor. He open the damper door manually and thought, the cool air will enter the fridge section non stop, but that door is again got closed, by some how.--------- You will have to get the damper assembly part replaced, to get the air flow work properly.------- As the repair man has already ordered the part, otherwise you can get this parts from online sites like www.repairclinic.com or from sears parts direct site.-------- Getting the damper door assembly, replaced will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have a ge profile psc23nhpa refriderator that the fridge side of the unit temperature shoot up to 135 over night. But the freezer side was still very cool. What could cause this?

Are you sure it is 135? If the freezer is cold but the fridge is warm, most likely is the damper door problem. (Basically, it's a door controlled by the main board, get cold air from freezer and close when the fridge is cold enough)

I'm unable to set GE Profile Arctica ridge to recommended temp

OK, First let us check the compressor to see if running or trying to start. Pull away from wall and unplug from wall. Remove lower cover and feel the compressor top of the to see if too hot to hold hand there, cool or warm. look inside freezer and tell me if ice is building on rear wall. Answer that and I will be able to tell you what we need to do, Thanks, Sea Breeze

GE Profile Side by Side is getting too cold on the fridge side.

I have a GE refrigerator with the same problem of my food freezing in the refrigerator. I spoke to an appliance part person and they sold me a temperature sensor for 20 bucks. They said it would be located in the control panel, but I took the control panel off and can't find the sensor. I'm now looking on yahoo answers to find out where the sensor is located.
