Does putting your phone in rice work after it fell in water?

Yes, it does! If you have dropped your phone in water, completely submerging your SIM Card and Phone in rice will cause the rice to absorb the water in your phone. Your phone will work after a couple of hours of being in rice.

How do you fix phones that fell in water?

try using a hair dryer on low setting on phone to dry it out and placing the phone in a jar for a while with raw rice. Electronics and water do not mix so it may not work you may have damaged circuitry beyond repair.

Hi I by mistake dropped my nokia c3 in water. There wasnt much water but it did get wet. All functions are fine except the screen display. It shows nothing other than white light. Please help

Hi,
You did get moisture in there...
Place the phone in a bag of rice.. for a couple of days... it may pull enough of the moisture out so that it will work again...but you may have already ruined it by turning it on...
Try the rice trick... it may help you out...

WHAT IM GONNA DO CAUSE MY MOBILE IS NOT WORKS ANYMORE CAUSE I WAS FALLING DOWN UNDER THE WATER?

Thank you for writing in regard to your concern about your;phone not working because it fell under water.
Let me help you with this.
Normally, in this typr of scenario, your phone may not be fixed already, most especaially when the phone has been in the water too long, the hardwares as well as the other parts of the screen will be rusty by the time it will dry. It would be best if you brought the phone immediately to the nearest center to see if it can still be fixed.
Now, I have red some articles about this one. It says that when your phone fell off to the water, you immeditaely renoved the battery, housing or casing and other parts immediately and place all the parts inside the rice container full of rice of course. The phone should be merged deep inside the rice. The rationale for tis one is that, the rice willsip all the water particles of your phone making the phone dry. Please be reminded that you need to let it stay there for about 24 to 48 hours.
Also, the trick that I have provided is not credible. Hope this will help.
Lastly, if you think you will spend much repairing the phone which is hopeless, I would highly suggest you to buy a new one rather to spend much on repairing.

My gps fell into water by mistake, any way to fix it, its not showing up anything accept welcoming screen and then it turns off automatically. any way to fix?

Yes, most likely you can restore your unit by placing it in a large jar with dry rice. The rice will draw the moisture out of your unit and it will most likely start working again. This works witrh cell phones also.

T-Mobile Shadow Water Damage

try this :
This works on most mini electronic devices like cellular phones and degital cameras etc .

it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

Motorola - E6 Smart Phone fell in water for 2-3 seconds.

First of all, do not turn it on. Take out the battery, and completely dry the phone before trying to use again.
Here is the procedure to take out all moisture trapped in the phone: Dry the phone, battery, any accessory, etc. with cloth and wrap each piece, phone and accessories, in newspaper. Place a few handfuls of rice into a plastic bag and then place the wrapped phone in the bag with rice. The newspaper wrapping avoids direct contact of rice with your phone because the dust from the rice can get into the small areas of the phone. The newspaper and rice will absorb moisture. Leave it there (with the bag open) at least 24 hrs.
