I have a Panasonic SA-PM31 stereo system with two auxiliary input methods: the first appears to be a common auxiliary cable input which says "phones." The second is a two cable input system labeled with the colors red and white, they look like the sort of inputs used in TVs and DVDs, however, these ditch the video input (yellow) and keep only the audio portion (red and white). I bought the typical one-cable auxiliary and plugged it into the portion that says phone. It appeared to fit quite nicely, there was a nice click sound as the cable fit into place and it wasn't too loose or too tight, just like a pair of earbuds fit an iPod. To my dislike, however, the music did not play when I hit play. I use my iPod in my car so I know the volume needs to be raised and I obviously know how to use an iPod, however, none of these methods worked. I discovered that, when I pulled the cable plug halfway out, the music played but the voices in the song didn't, and when I plugged it all the way back in, it stopped playing again. How do I get it to play correctly? Does this sound system even have a 3.5mm auxiliary plug or did I just mistake it for one?

The corect input for your ipod is another one who's name is "auxiliary" The "phones" input is dedicate only for pick-up, or another device who had to output a very small level signal. Your ipod have a high power level on output because he is amplified for a good level sound on your earphones. So, you can serious damage your Panasonic SA-PM31 sound system when input a too high level signal on "phones input" Phones is for unamplified audio signals like pickup signal direct from the head wires, or casette deck signal direct from the head wires. Gross (unprocessed) signal.

I have a Panasonic SA-AK 67 Can any one tell how to connect it to my phone using aux cable

Hello Zubair, to connect your phone to the SA-AK 67, you need a cable that has two RCA connectors (White and Red) to a 3.5mm stereo jack
The RCA connectors, you connect them in the AUX input that is on the rear panel of the SA-AK67 and the 3.5mm stereo jack, in the headphone output of your phone
You select Aux on the Panasonic, you play something on your cell phone and you're done
I hope you find the information useful

My panasonic dvd stereo system sa-pm91d when the volume is turned above 25, it plays distorted sound, it sounds like I have incorrectly tuned a radio channel even when using the auxiliary input

Hi Gusma,
If you have Distorted sound.
These may be the causes of the problem:

  • Make sure the speakers wires are properly connected.Check the color codes, be sure they are rightfully followed.
  • - Shorting (bare wires touching) of positive and negative speaker wires.
  • - Using speakers with an impedance lower than that rated for this unit.
  • - Straining of the speakers through excessive volume or power.
  • - Using the unit in a hot environment without proper ventilation.
I am also including a link to the User Manual. Read it thoroughly.
Best of Luck,

Sa-pm31 display panel is blank

I have the same stereo with the same bad display. The fan has never turned on to cool the amplifier and power supply. At full volume this stereo is hot and the fan does not turn on. I an guessing the heat has fried the display.

Replacing the fan and display would fix this. George "green bay"

Hi I am having problems with my Panasonic SA-AK200 stereo system when in AUX mode. What happens is when I play through AUX mode The Sound only comes through One speaker usually the right one but when on cd...

Looking at your question, it appears that the problem is not always on the same channel (right/left). This makes me wonder if the problem is the source or the cables you are using. The easy way to test this is to connect everything, check which speaker is not working, then swap the left and right cables at the aux jack. If the same speaker does not work, then it is a problem with the SA-AK200. If the problem switches to the other speaker, the SA-AK200 is not the problem and you should try replacing the cables or suspect the source (whatever you are trying to connect to aux) is at fault. If the SA-AK200 is the problem, I would suspect bad solder connections at the input jacks. Good luck

The manual...

http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SAHT730.PDF

Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except PHONO). Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2
