Question about Fuji FinePix A360 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Can a Camera's Factory-Delivered XD Memory Card Limit Be Upgraded from 1 GB to 2 GB.

We bought a 2GB XD memory card and it wouldn't work or format in my daughter's Fujifilm A360. In digging through the user manual, I found it only takes up to a 1 GB XD card. Is there a way to upgrade the software in the camera to accept larger memory cards? I didn't find anything in the owner's manual about upgrading the camera. I can be reached at isrb710@hotmail.com. Thanks, Ron

There is unfortunately no (easy) way to upgrade something like that...you'd probably have to actually tear it apart. but, maybe fujifilm might have released a firmware update to fix that problem *not that they would* but you could try plugging in the camera to your computer and try downloading firmware for it, they should have it on the website.

A 2gb memory card says memory full tried it in

No, that camera works with the 2gb cards just fine. You will want to try to format the card in your computer first, then try it in your camera (format it in the camera before using). If it doesn't format in the computer, it is a bad card.

Cant get anything when i installed the memory card for my olympus

If this is a C-700 camera the only memory card that can be used in that camera is a Smartmedia card from 16mb to 128mb. An xD card is not even supported by that camera at all.

Kodak c310 camera won't format new SD 2GB card old card same size

Older C310s won't take that large a card. Try to exchange it for a 1 GB or smaller. I had the same problem - a PNY 1 GB works fine

Make sure you've formatted the new memory card in the camera. You can find the format function when the camera is in Set Up mode.
If that doesn't work, I suspect the camera only supports cards with a maximum size of 2GB. A camera of this age is likely to only support the FAT16 file system which has a 2GB limit. You may be able to format the 8GB card, but the camera might only "see" 2GB of it.

2 GB SD CARD WON'T WORK IN MY Z3.

There is also a firmware update for the camera on the Konica-Minolta website. I have not been able to get the update to work following the directions provided. This update is supposed to fix the 2GB limit. Maybe you will have better luck getting it to work.
