iPhone has Google Maps with navigation and it's really quite good, for free. It doesn't have voice turn by turn and you have to read it to find your way but it does work. I bought Navagon and it's pretty good. I was worried that right after I bought Navagon, Tom Tom got an update. But from the looks of it, Tom Tom still sucks for the price.
connect your tom tom to the computer and go to tom tom home and look on the site,there you can get information on how to correct the problem ,i know they have map corrections on there.hope this helps.

Same here and with aftermarket mount. The light comes on but its not really charging. I was acutally able to find a sweet spot basically by pushing it down and to the right slightly (into the base) and held it in place with left hand and put the unit in the upper left part of the windshield, elbo in the window frame and move the unit around until the low batter warning dissappears, then don't move. Theres a specific screen that will tell if its charging or not if you tap the lower right part of the screen after booting up if you can get that far. I forget what it was, I think displays speed and miles to go. (But definatley hold the whole unit down and to the right and hold it for a while so it can charge up a little.) Then try turning on and you should have enough power to tinker with it. I would up putting the tom tom in the upper part of the windshield, then stuffing balled up napkins between the roof and the unit to keep pushing it down.
I also plugged it in the the original computer hook up base to see if the problem was on the winshield one or the tom tom itself. Both chargers do it so I am assuming that its the tom tom itself. I still CANNOT figure out why the charge light could be on and still not charging.
I am going FRD and taking it apart. (Fix Or Destroy) Since they are getting pretty cheap, nothing to loose I guess.

We have several problems with our Tom Tom One XLS.
1st problem in the town we live in Russell Springs, Ky. 42642 we have a Big Kmart,Kroger Grocery store, Kroger Gas station,Rite-Aide Pharmacy,McDonalds and several other businesses all in Northridge Shopping Center basic address for the area would be:

Hwy S 127
Russell Springs Ky. 42642
we can put exact address and business name and the only one Tom Tom can find is Rite-Aide Pharmacy. This businesses have been there for 10 - 20 years why can Tom Tom not find them.
We have a Keyvillage Shopping Center and it can locate that one. We would like this problem solved it is annoying.
2nd problem Tom tom calls a 45 degree curve a turn.what is up with that.
3rd problem is in other town s in ky and other states tom tom will take u to the old building instead of the new location why is that.
4th problem Tom Tom sometimes fails to tell you to turn when its to late to turn at the right turn another words Tom Tom waits till you get right on the road or just past it then tells you to turn. Why isw that?and we update Tom Tom at least 2 Times aweek if not 3. please help us in a few months we r fixing to take a long trip we r both retired and we definintly don't need these problems then.

It will only tell you the names of the streets if you use the COMPUTER voice. The other voices will not announce street names. So go to your voice selection and pick the computer voice...either male or female.
- Navigate to - Address - Street and house number - In the "City" space at the top, type the postcode. (tap 123 button bottom left of keyboard to get the number pad) - You will see a list beneath of the countries that use the postcode. - Tap the country you want. - You then see a list of streets in that postcode area. - Tap the street name (or start typing it in) - Type in the house number.
