Question about Mattel Barbie Girls MP3 Player

Installation Error Hi There, I am trying to install my daughters Barbie 512mb mp3 player. I am able to run the installation file from the disk but when I go to run the program after it has installed it gives me an error that says "The application encountered an unexpected error. Please restart the application." I have un installed and re installed several times and still get the same error. I have not been able to run the program even once. My computer meets the requirements to use this mp3 player as I have windows XP, 1.7ghz, 512mb ram and 6 gig free on the HDD? Please help as I have one disappointed birthday girl who cannot use her gift :(

Hi I am also having problems running the barbie girls 512MB MP3 player program. I get it installed and then when I try to run it I get the error Client has encountered a error and needs to close and sometimes I get the error Tray has encountered a error and needs to close. Does anyone know how to fix this. I have tried everything I can think of including running a scan to make none of the windows XP components are missing and that everything is order. Help me please if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciat it as my daughter is getting frustrated it was a Christmas gift.

Brand new sealed in box- installed software from disc. Clicked the barbie icon to begin, but keep getting this message-

The application encountered an unexpected error. Please restart the application. Then I have sent an error report to microsoft.

I have uninstalled then re-installed but the same keeps happening.

Could it be a faulty disc? The software seemed to install OK though.

    Thanks, Jo

Hi, while trying to troubleshoot this myself, i came upon this very nifty website :D.

I figured out that the application failed to load on my computer because i needed to update my flash. If your flash is already up to date, try the whole reinstall/unin fiasco and see if that works. Now it works just as it should, but if it doesn't work directly on boot up, my guess is that you don't have some requirement that it needs to boot.

Look in the read me file for the complete listing on what is needed for this application to boot and try to going through the software then hardware to see if there are any incongruencies. Good luck :D.

I had the same problem and was shocked to find out it was my fire wall... try to disable it temporarily or allow it to recoginize barbie girl as an "ok" site... good luck.
Once I upgraded my firewall i had no problems.

I bought this Barbie Girls mp3 player for my daughter and didn't realize that it is compatible with Windows Vista and older. I have Windows 7. How can I get this installed and loaded up for x-mas...

windows 7 has an application to run as earlier versions of windows
  1. Open the Program Compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Use an older program with this version of Windows.

  2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

The player has a built in rechargeable battery that can charge by pluging it into a usb port on your computer or into a usb wall charger. if you have a mac i should warn you it will only let you charge nothing else.

Transcend ipod not detecting properly in computers

The Transcend T.sonic 310 MP3Player is designed to run on windows98SE there are drivers available for windows 98SE at http://www.file-drivers.com/mp3_players/transcend/t_sonic_310.html additionally the utility software works with windows 98SE, Win20, WinXP and WinME. The Utility software must be loaded onto the required PC before installing thedriver. The Transcend website does not provide drivers for other versionsof windows. You did not state wether you have the 512mb or 1gb player but the drivers are no different. You can find full details of the drivers list, software and manuals here for download. please note thatnotall PC's are100% IBM compatible, eg; Tulip, Compaq, olliveti, etc and require device drivers directfrom the manufacturer if they are supported. http://www.transcendusa.com/Support/DLCenter/index.asp?LangNo=0&ItemID=TS1GMP310&axn=SRH1_RLT&DLKeyWd=T.sonic 310
If you are trying to install on another machine with windows98SE and have a driver installation disk and you are trying to install the drivers automatically, I would suggest that you install the device manually through the device wizard, when you get to the part where it asks what device you are installing select 'have disk' then browse to the drive location where the driver files are located and select ok. if this fails to work then the problem is one of incompatability. I hope this helps

Won't play the music copied from CD/Computer.

That was one cheap MP3 player. Can't you buy a larger iPod? What will you do with just 512MB? I have 2GB for RAM on my laptop computer.

Barbie Girl mp3- application wont start up

Try restarting your PC once the software has been installed.

I bought one of these for my daughter for Christmas. I didn't bother installing the software that came with the player. Windows Media Player automatically recognised the device allowing me to transfer music to it.
