Hi, i have a lexmark x2690 and am trying to install but get an error message and it won't print at all ... not even at test page... it flashes ec1 and the cartridge light flashes but they are both installed and correct best i can tell... can you help ???????

You more than likely have the color cartridge in the black slot try swapping them.

    It prints the alignment page. That is all, It reads offline

Did you take the tape off of the print cartridge before you put them in? Did you install the software first then when prompted turn the printer on then plug in the printer (usb) cord to the computer? Did you go into the print control panel and activate the print cartridges that you put in there? Sometimes you have to tell the printer that you installed new print cartridges.

    I have a Lexmark 7100 so it could be different. Like I said not all printers are like that. Let's give this a shot anyway.

    1. Start Menu

    2. Printers & faxes

    3. right click on lexmark x2690 icon

    4. on the general tab click printing preferences

    5. in the new window on the features tab

    6. click on the button printer services

    7. on the services tab in the new window

    8. you can do numerous testing and check your ink levels

    9. when you install a new cartridge you should beable to let the computer and printer know that you did that here

    10. Let me know what happens

You could try to remove and reinstall your color cartridge again.Do a Clean Cartridges cycle.Then do an Align Cartridges cycle.

Unable to print from lexmark x2690. printer is giving the error E C 1 on display.

EC1 error message indicates that your printer having trouble recognizing one of your cartridges. You could try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Remove and reinsert both cartridges. You may also wipe the cartridge nozzles with a damp paper towel to clean it from dirts and clogs. If error continues, check w/c cartridge is causing the error. Insert one cartridge first, then close the cover. If no error appears, then insert the other cartridge. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear.

THE 942.02 Service Yellow TMC Sens message is in the screen. What does it mean. It will not let me print

Error indicates a problem with the Cyan toner cartridge/developer. Try the following steps:
Power off the printer/MFP and open the toner access door. Reseat all of the toner cartridges. Power on the printer/MFP again and print a test page. Did the error message return? Power off the printer/MFP and remove the developer unit for the color specified in the error message, and then reseat it. Try printing another test page, verify if you're still getting the same error. It is possible that specified color's toner cartridge and developer unit are defective. If you have a replacement toner cartridge and developer, install them as a test and print a trial page.

I just installed new ink cartridges. Getting an error code 1270 when i install the color cartridge

ower off the All-In-One and remove the power adapter (brick) from the back of the unit. Wait 20 seconds, reinsert the adapter, and power the unit on.
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to step 2.
No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved. 2
Reset the All-In-One's factory defaults (click here for instructions).
Did the error message return?
Yes: Continue to Checking the Cartridges.
No: Print a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved.
Checking the Cartridges
NOTE: The embedded links lead to specific troubleshooting documents.
Step Action 1 Open the top cover of the All-In-One. Remove both cartridges. Close the top cover. 2 Power off the All-In-One and remove the power supply brick from the back of the unit. 3
Reinsert the power supply brick into the back of the All-In-One and power the unit back on.
Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Skip to Contacting Lexmark below. There is a hardware issue with your printer and you need to contact our technical support center.
No: Continue to step 4. 4
Clean the cartridge contacts (click here for instructions) and the AIO carrier contacts
(click here for instructions). Continue to step 5. 5
Power the AIO on, reinsert the black/photo cartridge, and close the top cover. Power the All-In-One off and then on again.
Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Power the unit off and try step 5 with another black/photo cartridge. If the error persists with the new cartridge, proceed to Contacting Lexmark.
No: Continue to step 6. 6
Power the AIO on, reinsert the color cartridge, and close the top cover. Power the All-In-One off and then on again.
Does the error message reappear?
Yes: Power the unit off and try step 6 with another color cartridge. If the error persists with the new cartridge, proceed to Contacting Lexmark.
No: Try printing a test page. If the test page prints, the error is resolved

I have installed 2 new cartridges & the black prints but the color will not.

Blank pages

tried re-installing the sortware or going into printer diagnostics in the start,control panel.
and it will run a diagnostic & try to print a test page, & clean the cartriges.
If not the printer's broke

ok what should do is when you finish printing one page wait for some few mins before printing another page ok. that could help or unistall and reinstall your printer again and apply this method i just showed you. thanks

Device/Drivers Incompatibility

Was this installed by disk with software or did you get the driver and software from website.

You need to uninstall the software and make sure the driver was uninstalled. First go to my com,properties, hardware, devise mgr,
and look in this list for the driver,lexmark printer. Now use add/remove programs and uninstall the lexmark stuff, now restart pc, and check devise mgr and make sure its gone,if not just rt click on it and pick uninstall,restart pc. Now run the registry cleaner.

Download this free registry cleaner, its pretty good for free.

Run the cleaner, and then download the driver,make sure vista driver, from page that I post below. Now reinstall the software
and follow the directions when it tell you to hook up the printer.

You will have to research the driver as the page does not hold the driver.

There really isn't. Lexmark's 'official answer' that I have seen is this:

Genuine Lexmark inks and cartridges are perfectly matched to the printing system to ensure that every document produced is of the highest possible print quality, providing long-term dependable service from your Lexmark printer. Using incompatible inks in an attempt to extend the life of a genuine Lexmark cartridge beyond its recommended usage can cause failures in several different areas of the printer. Any such damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges will not be covered by your Lexmark printer Warranty, Extended Warranty or Service Agreement.

If the error message stopped you from using the refilled cartridges, you shouldn't have damaged the unit in any way.
