Question about OKI Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

When I try to print to my OKI 320 it is doing funny things. I print something, and the printer doesn't do anything. I print that something again and the printer starts right up and then prints 2 copies of what I was trying to print. Why the lag?

I've been using OKIDATE MICROLINE 320 PRINTER at work. I was printing something and I realized that I was printing the wrong page so to stop printing, I simply turned off the power and waited....

You would have to cancel the current print job from your computer for it to stop. Assuming you have access to a computer that is connected to that printer, you will have to find that printer by going to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes > Oki ML 320 then right click, select "See What's Printing" and cancel Current print job (I am also assuming you are using windows). I really hope this helps, if not add a comment clarifying your question, thanks.

There is now ink in the machine. You just have to replace the print ribbon. This is the small black box that is mounted to the printhead.

Disable Power Saver

I come Hong Kong, China.
My printer is Microline 320, it functioned weel but one smaal thing I want to get away from it. I use this printer once a week, after using I will power off and disconnect the power cable from the socket, and store it.( space problem ). Everytime I have to re-set the setting again, because my printing paper is 11.5 inches while the OKI 320 will return to factory setting of 12 inches. My request is how to fixed the setting into 11.5 inches all the time whenever I re-use the printer. Or will there be something wring for my printer?

It sounds like the 'form length' is misset.
Check the initial setup settings.

what kind of network is this printer setup on? it must be an external print server, that runs a cable to the serial port? i actually have not seen this done on this Oki model. it may not be possible...any more info you can add, and i can see what i can figure out.

What in the world?

If you are using a modern operating system, I would bet this is a communication problem with your cabling, expecially if it started all of a sudden without changing anything and the connection cable is an old parallel cable. Try unplugging the cables and plugging them in again very firmly. If it persists, try another cable.

It could also be a driver problem; you can try choosing another driver (most dot matrix drivers are similar and many were interchangeable) and see if you get the same problem.

Good luck...

Oki ML 320 Turbo/D IBM - JetDirect 170x Print Server prolems

Check the receive buffer on the Oki. I usually set it to the highest (88k or 128k). You might also check the print head gap if you are printing multi part invoices. If the print head is too close it may overheat and stop printing. If you have a different printer, swap it out and see if it prints correctly. It may be a problem with the JetDirect 170x, not the printer.
