Contact the camera manufacture. Many thousands of people are having this type of problem.

A better fix:
If possible take the computer back to the dealer, buy a copy of XP-Pro SP-2, and have them install it for you. Then your software and compatibility issues will be fixed!

Can you load software on windows7

The HP software is only available through Vista; it might run in the compatibility mode but there are no guarantees. However, your camera will work with Windows using drivers built into Win7 (according to the Microsoft Compatibility Center). You will need to import images with Microsoft Paint (on your computer already), PhotoGallery (part of Windows Live which you need to download) or a third-party application.

For Paint, Import from Camera is under File. (Look for the line Import from Camera or Scanner.)

BTW the HP software is available here: . Right click on the installer and choose Properties and the Compatibility Tab. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. You will then need to set the program to run as Vista compatible as well if it works at all.

I hope this helps.

I just upgraded Vista to Windows7. How can I get software to download pix from my HP620 digital camera. I have it installed in a camera dock.

There are no HP drivers or software for this camera under Win7. However, you may be able to download the images to Paint. I do not know if this will work with the dock; try connecting the camera directly to the computer if it doesn't. Plug in the camera (or place it in the dock), then open Paint (Start, All Programs, Accessories, Paint). Choose File and see if the From Scanner or Camera option is available (if it is grayed out then the OS can't run the camera). Uninstall any earlier drivers before attempting these other steps.
You could try loading/installing the Vista software by downloading from the HP site and running it in the compatability mode.
Download the software, extract the folder contents if needed, then right click on the exe. Choose Properties then the Compatability tab. Check the check box for Run This program as Compatable mode and select the Vista option (I'm not sure which service pack) for a 2007 program version. Then click Apply and OK. Then right click again and Run as administrator.

An additional option is available in Win7 Pro and Ultimate for some computers. Download and install the two programs from Microsoft that create the XP mode. This is a virtual XP computer. Install and use the camera in this "second" computer. You may need to save the images to external media to share them between the two "computers".

I hope this helps.

Digital camera not recognised by windows vista

It may be that the drivers for the Camera are not compatible with Vista. Did you update the Vista drivers.

Can you not detect via USB cable?

Camera won't work with vista

There are no drivers available to make the Canon PowerShot A30 work with Windows Vista. Your best bet is to get a CF card reader ($15 or less) with a USB connector and put your card from the camera into it. Windows Vista will recognize the card reader and the photos without any drivers.

I have a R607 Digital Camera that I have been using on my windows XP computer. That computer is not running well anymore, it is getting old. I would like to install the R607 Digital Camera on my Vista...

My father in law had a computer with XP and this exact camera. He had a nice little system. His son bought him a laptop that uses Vista. I found this link so that you will be able to use the R607 camera with the Vista software.

Can't install software for D53 on my new Vista PC

If it is older software, it is probably not made to run on Vista Operating Systems. I would check the market for something Vista compatible. Samsung might even have updated software on their website for purchase. But you might want to do some bargain hunting around the net first.
Or you could always just connect the camera to the computer and copy the pictures into the "My pictures" folder on your computer. And with Vista's "Windows Image Viewer" (or something of that nature) you can do basic things to the photos, like adjust brightness, contrast, or saturation. You could also crop the photos, and more. The Vista provided image viewer is probably equal to what you could do to photos in the software.

Olympus Camedia 4.0/ C-4000 Zoom and Windows Vista Operating System

Doubt the software will work on Vista. If you do have the disk, before you click on the install program, right click it and use the "XP compatability" mode. I would dual boot to an XP partition to take care of all your XP needs. Its a bummer but that is what Im doing...

Maybe not, but what you can do is: remove all camedia software from Vista. Put in installation disk but dont run install program. Right click install program and select "compatability mode", choose WinXP and then install it with this property. It has worked for me in a similar manner.
