Can no longer check my ink level.

Sometimes Windows 7 drivers need to be downloaded from the HP support site. Also, make sure you have installed the application on the CD that came with the printer in addition to the printer drivers. That is what you would have run under Programs before. If your Windows 7 computer was not used to manage the printer before, you will need to install the HP management tool on it in order to see ink levels.

Administrative rights

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password and privileges. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD.
Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop-computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions.
There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program.
Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :-

Hi there!
(For Windows only) To switch the type of connection from wireless to USB conn you can do these steps:
-Click on START or the orb looking window icon on the lower right hand corner of your computer screen. -Click on Programs/All Programs -Click on HP (just the HP folder) -Click on your HP model folder (HP deskjet 3050) -Click on Add a device. It will ask you to select the connection type -Select USB. It will then ask you to connect the USB cable and wait until you see a Congratulations page to make sure that the product was installed successfully -Try to print a test page.
Uninstall from All Programs -Click on START or the orb looking window icon on the lower right hand corner of your computer screen. -Click on Programs/All Programs -Click on HP (just the HP folder) -Click on your HP model folder (HP deskjet 3050) -Click on uninstall.
Uninstall from CD -Insert the CD that came with the printer -when you see the main Installation Menu click on Uninstall
Uninstall from Control Panel -Click on Start -Click on Control Panel -Click on Add/Remove Programs or Programs & Featurs or Programs -Look for the HP programs listed (listed alphabetically) -Click on the HP Program you want to remove and click on Remove or Uninstall
*It may ask you to restart the computer so it would be better if you will save importand documents before uninstalling
Hope this helps!

Can't install HP 4355 on windows 7

Installing HP 4355 on windows 7 is pretty easy ,kindly insert the PROGRAM CD in the CD ROM drive and auto run the aplication CD without connecting the printer,in few minutes of installation progress you will get alert to connect the printer and then printer is configured by OS Above is the normal procedure, very minute but technical tip is to connect the printer first and insert program CD for printer in the rom drive and open device manager and scan for hardware changes ,you will get alert on task bar that new hardware is found and new window for device installation ,click continue with browsing file path for CD in drive and continue installation ,in nex few minutes your device shall be ready to use.
Incase there is problem with installation with CD kindly go to manufacturers website and download windows 7 compatible drivers.
For Safe Computing Knidly keep your antivirus updated and firewall is on.

I m a neophyte to computers so tell me where do i find the windows utility or hp utility. when i looked at windows cleaner it said it could delete some of my programs.

If you have installed the software from the CD-ROM that HP supplied along with the printer, then the HP Utility should have been installed.

Click the Windows "Start" button.
Click "All Programs".
Click "Hewlett Packard" (or click "HP").
Is one of the items the HP Utility,
which is used to "align print heads", or "check ink levels" ?

As for Windows Cleaner, I never use such programs.

Scanner problems

This worked for me. You want to start fresh so delete your HP printer in "Printers and Faxes". Also delete any HP software that loaded in Control Panel "Add and Remove Programs". Next in Control Panel under "Add and Remove Programs", the "Add and Remove Windows Components" TAB, check mark the file to add called "Other Network File and Print Services". After clicking next, the extra print files will load. Reload your software/ HP drivers and it should be fine.
