My rear speakers r not working.

You need to check to make sure you have the right wires hooked up positive and negitive to the speaker and if they are then check the cd player or the radio wires or simply just the balance.

On the speaker wires for the stereo in a 1986 nissan maxima what is negitive and what is positive?

Normally, the POSITIVE speaker wire will have a white stripe on it. Also you can look on the speaker "lugs" where the wires connect and you should see a + and - next to each lug.

place hand on speaker b4 your friend turns up the radio each time and you can feel the speaker away or push up on you
remember to mark your wires for future

Need to know how to wire the speaker mono?

Bridge should be made positive left channel + negitive into - right channel but make sure the amp can take the speaker impedance load or you will trip the amp or cook it if you over load it.
+ - +- +- +-
PW NW You may also need a choke for correct frequencey response

Don't know which is the positive and negitive wires

To be honest, it really doesn't matter - the speaker is just a resistor electrically, which is not a polarized component. You can hook either wire up to either side and you will get the same sound. In any pair of speaker wires, do you have one with a stripe and one without? If so, the striped wire is the negative wire. If you have a light colored wire and a dark colored wire, usually the darker one is ground (ie, yellow wire and purple wire in a pair for example - the purple would be the negative and the yellow would be the positive). But honestly it doesn't really matter which one goes to which terminal - electrically they have no real difference. If you hook them up "backwards" from what the factory intends, when the speaker plays, it'll pulse inward rather than outward from its mounting frame. It'll move the same distance with the same velocity however, so it'll create the same sound.
