I just got my subs and amp i have my amp wired up but what do i need to hook the amp to the sub?

you need speaker wire. you will hook one end to the negitive on the amp and one end to the black(negative) spot on the speaker. then hook one end of the other wire to the positive on the sub and the other end to the red(positive) spot on the speaker

My rear speakers r not working.

You need to check to make sure you have the right wires hooked up positive and negitive to the speaker and if they are then check the cd player or the radio wires or simply just the balance.

On the speaker wires for the stereo in a 1986 nissan maxima what is negitive and what is positive?

Normally, the POSITIVE speaker wire will have a white stripe on it. Also you can look on the speaker "lugs" where the wires connect and you should see a + and - next to each lug.

Need help with door speaker wiring for 1997 Explorer

hook a single speaker to 1 contact doesnt mater witch wire is witch
gat a tone generated mp3 from internet burn to cd
put cd in turn it up and look to see what way the speaker moves
once you figure that out remember a speaker should deflect outward not inward hook wires accordingly 1 by 1 and you are done
place hand on speaker b4 your friend turns up the radio each time and you can feel the speaker away or push up on you
remember to mark your wires for future
i like the addage this is not negitive.. so tie a knot in the positive wire

Need to know how to wire the speaker mono?

Bridge should be made positive left channel + negitive into - right channel but make sure the amp can take the speaker impedance load or you will trip the amp or cook it if you over load it.
+ - +- +- +-
PW NW You may also need a choke for correct frequencey response

Connecting the wires to my sub

at 4 ohms you go from positive with the dot to the negitive with no dot and then conect the other two together and that is for 4 ohms. For 2ohms positive with dot to negitive with a dot than connect the other two together. try that shut down everything befor you start working on it so you dont blow fuses on amp or deck or under the hood. try one than turn it up see how it sounds than try the other way to see what sounds best.Contact local dealer if you are still haveing problems. If not rock out and crank that bass .

My amp wont power both subs the same

you most likely mess up you wiring... im not sure what ohm resistance your subs are, but if its 2ohm or 4ohm you wire straight foreward one sub all positive wires to left positive, all negitive to left negitive, and the same with sub 2 to the right terminal. BUT if your subs are 8ohm then wire it with all positives from both subs to LEFT positive and wire all negitive wires to RIGHT negitive... and see if that helps and good luck!
