Display driver r300 has stopped responding (by 3 users)

when i use my media player 11, i will watch a video and the screen will stop but the sound keeps on, then at the bottom there is an error message......display driver r300 has stopped responding and has recovered, how do i fix this

during gameplay i get a black screen and then a blue screen and after a few minutes it returns ro normal.
