Question about Dell E153FP 15" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Monitor image flashes off and on

I have a dell 15" lcd monitor. After powering the computer on and several minutes of use the monitor will go black then begins to flash the dell logo.It continues this cycle for a few minutes, then goes back to whatever I was doing before it 'freaked out'. The monitor power button will cycle off and on with the screen and you cannot turn the monitor off. I have tried restarting the computer, but it returns to the same state as when I turned it off(if the screen is flickering it will continue. Every time it occurs it eventually stops and returns to whatever I was working on. I have swapped out power cord and computer hook up and also moved monitor to a different computer with the same results, so I am assuming it is a problem in the monitor itself...

Sounds like you've done all the trouble shooting. If you just need that extra nudge, I would agree... it sounds like you'll be needing to shop for a new monitor.

The monitors inverter seems to be failing. If you look up close, can you see a very faint image of the desktop?

You should think about getting a new monitor it might be cheaper than repairing.

Dell SE198WFP 19" LCD won't come out of standby

I went into the BIOS (with F2 during restart) and changed a value -- IIRC it was called something like "power management scheme" -- from the default S3 to the other choice, S1. Now the old Dell XP Dimension 2350 will go into and out of Standby correctly and the new SE198WFP 19" LCD will too.

Dell monitor problem

Disconnect and reconnect both ends of the video cable (while the computer and monitor are both off). Also disconnect and reconnect the power cable. Is the power cable plugged into the same surge protector as the computer? And also try a different outlet on the surge protector for the monitor.
