Re: driver and utilities driver disk for e-machines model...
Every e-Machine has a model number imprinted on the case. Fill out the needed information on this web site. http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html
There is telephone technical support towards the bottom of the page.
Than download the drivers. If you're e-Machine is over a year old & you want the CD & other CD software perks that came with it you'll have to buy it from e-Machine. Downloads are free. Mfg's will not give away driver CD's. There's no money in that.

If you can locate the model number (and version) from the motherboard, you can go to the mainboard manuafacturer's website and download the chipset, video, network, audio, and RAID drivers as well as many utilities that may have been on the original install disk. They won't have the same level of self-install that the original disk had, but they usually are fairly easy to setup
click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you will have the options to troubleshoot alsoselect properties under driver you will have options to update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot you might have to uninstall the drivers restart your computer then reinstall the drivers in xp you could run the check disk utility click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive or control panel administrive tools, computer management ,disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now, start should schedule this task when restart
hope this helps
You do not not need your motherboard CD to preform a format on your drive. Any windows CD. Win XP home, XP Pro, Win 2000 will format your hard drive. You can also use the hard drive's Mfg's utility disks & creat a bootable floppy disk or creat a bootable CDROM disk that will not only allow you to format the hard drive but also fun testing on the drive. You can even pick your cluster size & FAT file. Write down the name of your drive & model no#. Go to the Mfg's web site & download the utility software. Chances are Windows will have most of your boards drivers in it's data base. All you'll need to do is download from Gigabyte your missing drivers. You'll need you complete model no# & version no# if you can find it.
