Error Code F2.H2 on Micowave vent a hood - KitchenAid Microwave Ovens

I sent Whirlpool a message asking about this error code, but my message was deleted without being read. Nice...

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille.

It may contain a chart explaining the trouble codes.

If you find it, and it does, feel free to send me a scan of it or let me know what it says this code means.

That way I can help you and others.

    Thank you.

.
The starting capacitor will be on the circuit board. You need to remove the control panel to see it.

I am beginning to suspect that you have a failing relay on the control cirucit board. It may have arced and gotten carbon deposits on the contacts, reducing the conductivity. This means less current flow and reduced or non-existent fan action.

After you've checked all this, feel free to contact me about a possible repair. We could have you send us the control panel assembly and the new hood fan so we can analyze and repair it. The second link above takes you to our site.

It's better to reply back instead of starting a new thread.

Unplugging it for a while and then plugging it back in is how you reset it.

I put in a message to Whirlpool technical to see if they can tell me what this code is. I'll reply back when I find out.

SOURCE: error message on a whirlpool microwave oven

Hi,

The F2 H2 error code refers to a faulty hood/light switch. This is a combonation board located just behind the buttons on the left panel. The part number for the switch board is 8206049. Since the screws holding this left panel on are only accessable with the door of the microwave removed, I would recommend this repair to be done by a profressional repair person.

Error code F2

Per the tech sheets (page 8), "F2" error code means "Keyboard failure". Recommended by the manufacturer to replace the touch panel first and, if it would not solve the problem, then the control board has to be replaced too. Not the best recommendation but we have to follow it.

- The part number for the touch panel (aka a membrane switch) is AP3130765

- The part number for the control board AP3130764
