That is most probably result of server host not working anymore, check Call of duty (for example 4, black ops....etc) _____(Platform, PS2,PS3,XBox,...) online status. If they are not working, for that time you wont be able to play it. As far as you have explained you have configured your console online, so its not problem with you :) Good luck my friend! :)) Thx for asking me.
And please rate my solution! :) Thx in advance .Alex
It might have something to do with your newtwork type.
Go on the network settings section and check your connection type. If you're using a wireless network it will probalby resolve by time, if not you should hear with your network service
this is common problem in online gaming.... it is always recommended to have your console hardwired to the router.....your is either too far away, another wireless device is affecting it (cordless phone close to the wireless router can cause interference), your wireless net work is not secured enabling any one close to your house to get on your network which inturn will slow you down, or you may need to get range boost anntanas depending on the router you have and that you can do that type of upgrade...or you mat need a super g or n router for greater distance.
First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings
Windows XP 1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections 2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath 3. Click Support 4. Click Details 5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.
Windows Vista 1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center 2. Click on "View Status" to the right of your connection 4. Click Details 5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.
Set these values under "manual settings" in the PS3 but add 1 to the last number for the IP Address as this has to be unique on your network
