Replace fuse dryer model GEQ8821LLO

Hello;
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.
You never explained what the problem was. Dryer not running? No heat? Dryer shutting down. It could be as simple as cleaning out your dryer hot air distribution manifold. A dryer will not run if you do not have good air flow due to lint blockage. A dryer will not run if you have a bad door switch. You can Ohm components out with a multi-meter, setting the meter to the lowest Ohms (Omega Symbol). You should get a reading of "0" if the component is good.

1.) Dryer Door Switch - This switch replaces your dryer door's switch.
  • You may need to remove your dryer's lint screen and lint screen housing before lifting its top panel to reach its existing switch.
  • Be sure your dryer is unplugged during installation.
This Dryer Door Switch part #3406107 Cost $20.00

Dryer Door Switch - Unplug the dryer before replacing the door switch.
This Dryer Door Switch part #279782 Cost: $22.00

Thermal Cut-Off- This component is located on your heating element housing,. you may be able to access it at your hot air distribution manifold in the back of your unit.
  • When replacing your dryer's fuse, replace its thermostat, too. The thermostat should have prevented the dryer's existing fuse from blowing. The high-limit thermostat is functional to 250 degrees (Fahrenheit) and the thermal cut-off fuse to 360 degrees (Fahrenheit).
  • Install the fuse in your dryer's heater element housing box. Be sure your dryer is unplugged during installation

  • Part #: 3977394 Cost: $33.00

The high-limit thermostat replaces your dryer's thermostat.

    • Install the thermostat in your dryer's heater element housing box. Be sure your dryer is unplugged during installation.
    This High-Limit Thermostat part #3390291
    Hot Air Distribution Manifold:
This is in the back of your dryer and easily unbolted. If you are plugged up with lint your unit will shut down. Remove this component and clean the lower discharge end.

    Error code E4H

Hi - Are you certain the error code is E4H? This manufacturer does not have such an existing error code however Frigidaire does have an error code E4A. Typically it indicates a faulty issue with the timeout program. Contact a professional to move forward accurately. Technician will check for anything that would cause extend dry times such as: no heat, restricted vent, blower fan blade broken or loose, dryer installed in closet with solid door, bad connection in moisture sensor bar circuit or dirty bars. If dryer operates normally after it has be diagnose and code returns, the main control will possibly need replacing.

I need to know were i find the igniter on my kenmore 70 series and replace it

Thi igniter is on the burner assy located in the bottom of the dryer. This manual will tell you how to open your dryer. It does not tell you how to change the igniter but it does show how to access the burner. The igniter change out is a matter of unmounting the existing one and unplugging the connector then install the new one. The burner access is through the toe panel discussed in the manual link above.

If you need more assistance would provide your model number please so we both can refer to the correct data.

    Thanks for using FixYa,

    No power of any kind

This is commonly caused by a blown Thermal Fuse. The fuse is a small white component mounted on the blower fan assembly. There should be two wires running to it. UNPLUG the dryer and disconnect the component wires before taking any resistance readings. You should read something close to 0 ohms with a multimeter if the fuse is good. If the fuse reads bad, you must replace it.

The location of your blower fan housing depends upon the MODEL NUMBER. Since you posted no model, the easiest way to determine where these components are is by the location of the dryer lint screen.

If the lint screen is on TOP of the dryer, all your heating circuits are BEHIND the dryer. Just remove the back panel to access. The blower fan housing will be located on the lower left hand side.

If the lint screen is in the DOOR of the dryer, the heating circuits are INSIDE the dryer cabinet under the drum. You will need to remove the lower toe panel under the door for access. If the dryer has a solid front with no lower panel, you must lift the dryer topand remove the entire front panel for access. The blower fan housing is on the left hand side of the cabinet under the drum.

The following link can give you some more guidance on dryer no power issues:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574266-thorough_dryer_advice

Refer to the section that explains the possible components for "Dryer Does Not Run At All". The Thermal Fuse is the most common cause, but there are other possibilities to consider.

Now...if the thermal fuse has blown, it usually blows for a reason. The most common cause is poorly installed, kinked or clogged exhaust vent ducting. I would strongly recommend you thoroughly inspect the ducting, air blower and cabinet interior before replacing any defective components. Otherwise, these same components will fail again.

If you have any questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

    Eletric cord installation

The supply cord on a dryer can be 3 wire or 4 wire, depending on the existing receptacle. All new construction must have 4 wire receptacles for dryer hook ups.
At the back of the dryer you will see a set of three terminals. The outside terminals are for connecting the outside wires of the cord. In a 4wire hook up, the center terminal is for the center, insulated, white wire, the neutral. The bare copper or green wire of the 4wire cord gets connected above these terminals to a lug or stud on the body of the dryer. There may be a strap there. For a 4wire cord connection this strap is connected to the stud only.
The change for a 3wire connection is that the center green wire of the 3wire cord connects to the center of the three power terminals along with the grounding strap from the dryer body above.

I have a Frigidaire gallery series dryer.(GEOQ2152ESO). It will spin but will not heat. I suspect blown house fuses in dryer circuit. How do I access and replace fuses ?

the dryer circuit will be clearly labelled in the house box, there will be two fuses or a single two phase breaker for this circuit.
there are not usually electrical fuses as such IN a dryer, there are thermostats to regulate temperature, and a thermal fuse, that cuts the power totally to the heat element if air temperature rises above its melt point.
the element itself has a limited life span and may fuse/burnout.
    to test electrical components.
    Unplug dryer
open case, by removing the front,
described elsewhere in any of the 'changing belt' threads
locate the thermal cutouts, on the fan housing or exhaust duct and disconnect one wire to isolate it from the rest of the circuit, test with ohmmmeter, no-continuity replace, continuity reconnect wire
3aca526.jpg5d18df6.jpg thermal cuttouts look like these ~1inch accross.
locate the heat element and disconnect one wire to isolate it from the rest of the circuit, test with ohmmmeter, no-continuity replace, continuity reconnect wire

while you have the dryer open de-lint the fan and exhaust ducting, most common cause of element or themal fuse failure is air flow restriction
7713ef8.jpgce0732c.jpg you get a lot of lint out of the fan even when proper cleaning is done, and clean out the ducting right to the exterior walls
95b69b0.jpgthis was the rather extreme result of not cleaning the duct (brainiac placed a wire across the terminals of the burnt out thermal fuse)
